This past week has been another time for behind the scenes activity and some planning for the future here at TSA. At the weekend Liam left the staff to pursue other options and we turned to Chris to take up the mantel of Community Manager. He brought with him a flood of new ideas and enthusiasm that signalled to us that a new era of growth was just beginning.
So first of all I’d like to welcome a new member of staff. Gastos84 has joined the team so that he can continue to bring his awesome Abridged too Far features to you all, along with some new material in the not-too-distant future. We are also on the look-out for news writers so if you’re always on the look-out for a scoop and have the writing skills to see your news stories up on TSA then get in touch (peter[at]thesixthaxis[dot]com) with a couple of examples of your writing.
Now, to the biggest news of the week…
Chris kicked off his tenure as Community Manager by asking for feedback and suggestions from the community. He got some good feedback and we’re looking at it all but the most obvious suggestion that we thought needed some work was to have a community events section where our regular TSA members could organise their own multiplayer meet-ups through TSA. We thought this was such a good idea that Alex spent most of the week tinkering and tweaking code so that we could get it to you as soon as possible.
If you look up at the main navigation bar you will notice a new link called “TSA Meets” click it and you’ll be taken to a page where you can organise your own online events or sign up to the events that other people have organised.
At the moment you need 250 TSA points in order to schedule your own event (we wanted to ensure that this was something for contributing community members to start with). We also need to approve the meets before they become visible on the site (in order to prevent misuse). We are constantly looking at ways to tweak existing features on the site or introduce new ones so if you have any further ideas then get in touch via PM on the forum or the staff page which is linked at the bottom of this one.
We hope you have fun with the new feature and we hope you’ll keep your eyes on TSA for more developments in the near future.
