Agent might well have been in development for five years now, but it’s still due next year if the Rockstar website is to be believed. Which it should be, really, given that they’re the studio behind the game. In a question and answer discussion regarding The Ballad Of Gay Tony’s Xbox 360 exclusivity, one eager PS3 fan reminded RockStar that “Grand Theft Auto originated on the Playstation system (PS1)” and whilst he’s not actually right, he does have an interesting point – that RockStar’s 360 output far outweighs that of their PS3 releases.
This is all about to change, mind, because the reply confirms plenty of stuff due for next year on the Sony platform. “We appreciate the enthusiasm of PlayStation 3 owners and believe us, we understand where you’re coming from,” says the site. “That’s why we are working hard on a lineup of PlayStation 3 releases for 2010 that we know you will be very excited to play – including Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3, and the PlayStation 3 exclusive AGENT, which is a brand-new title from Rockstar North, the creators of the Grand Theft Auto series.”
“Plus there’s more yet to be announced,” it continues. “Thanks again for your patience and please stay with us!”
