Today Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) have announced their lineup for the Tokyo Game Show, taking place on September 24th-27th, this represents the last major trade show of the year, and is usually a great source of information about the things we can expect in the coming year, along with a healthy smattering of titles we can expect in our Christmas stockings this year. Despite TGS taking place in Sony’s own backyard it would be fair to say that Microsoft have by far had the better conferences in recent years and have used it as a platform to announce über popular PlayStation franchises  are going multi-platform like Tekken and Final Fantasy.

Hopefully there will be loads shown during Sony’s keynote, but the below will be playable in the Sony booth on the show floor;

PlayStation 3

  • FIFA 10
  • Winning Eleven 10
  • Lost Planet 2
  • Final Fantasy XIII
  • Bayonetta
  • Gran Turismo 5
  • Golden Sword And The Vanished Fleet: Drakes Fortune (*shrugs* perhaps it’s Uncharted 3?)
  • God Of war III
  • inFAMOUS
  • Ratchet & Clank
  • Tekken 6
  • Assassin’s Creed 2
  • Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
  • Quantum Theory

Interestingly Sony have also said there will also be two further unannounced PlayStation 3 titles that will be playable on the show floor.

PSP

  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Motorstorm: Raging Ice
  • Gran Turismo
  • Valkyria Chronicles 2
  • Persona 3
  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Dynasty Warriors 5
  • And more…

Services

  • PSN Video Store
  • PSP Digital Comics
  • PlayStation Home

I’m a bit disappointed that The Last Guardian isn’t progressed enough to have a small section available on the show floor, but hopefully we’ll see plenty of it on the stage during Sony’s presentation, I’m also really keen to see plenty of Quantum Theory as the early footage made it look like Gears Of War 2 with a Far Eastern twist, which has got to be good. If you’ve been around TSA long you’ll know we’re going to have wall to wall coverage of everything that happens over in Tokyo so save your airfare and stay tuned.

  1. “MotorStorm: Raging Ice” ?

Is that the Japanese title for Arctic Edge?

    • Snap!

      • Great minds an’ all that…

      • ?im confused, good question?

    • Either that or it’s a Google translate error… WTH is the Drakes Fortune thing all about?

      • Very strange. Can’t see it being Uncharted 3 – that would surely be at next years E3, at the earliest.

      • yeah, course….

      • “WTH is the Drakes Fortune thing all about”?

We Dont know, its your article. ;)

      • yeah good point (ish) but its from the Google translate page… see the source links

      • This is why you don’t google translate Japanese news. Uncharted 2 in Japan is called Uncharted: Ougontou to Kieta Sendan or Uncharted: The Golden Sword and the Fleet that Vanished.

        http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/uncharted2/

      • seems like a long name instead of the number 2

  2. I’m guessing Raging Ice is the Japanese name for Motorstorm Arctic Edge?
    “And more…” sounds interesting ;)

    • errm not really there was stuff like ‘Everybody’s Cleaner ?? and a few which didn’t really translate at all I think

  3. Looks quite good.

  4. Don’t forget that Sony has said they will be revealing some games for the PlayStation Motion Controller and revealing more info about it. Maybe they will finally come up with a name for it.

  5. I want ot know why inFAMOUS is still there?

    • Notorious Man as it seems to be called

    • DLC?

      • That was my initial thought.

    • Has it just been translated, and still relatively new over there?

      • Wikipedia shows no release date for Japan, so maybe it’s not even out there, yet.

  6. Nothing on Heavy Rain, MAG or Modnation Racers? Nuts.

Oh well should be enough other stuff to keep me interested.

    • Heavy Rain is listed but it does say tentative
MAG isn’t really a jp game
ModNation will surely be shown on the stage, this is purely playable on the show floor in the Sony Booth

      • Tentative means that the title of the game is tentative, not that it won’t be there tentative.

  7. ” Golden sword and vanished fleet: Drake’s Fortune ” Is a test from TSA who for copies their info ;)

    • Haha. Wouldn’t surprise me. I’ve scene several other sites using that name, so if it really is a test, then good job TSA.

  8. hmmm, nothing special on that line up for me really. no PES10

    • Winning Eleven is the original name for PES

      • Oh right ok. makes sense then

  9. Golden Sword And The Vanished Fleet: Drakes Fortune

    wat? i am confuse.

but im most excited for more info on VALKYRIA CHRONICLES 2!!

    • anything on VC2 would be great

      • that will be cool, just got into vc

      • Makes me wet! Mind you, I still need to finish #1 yet.
