28Monday’s are the ideal point in the week to take a peek at all the amazing online action coming up, last week saw plenty of action centred around the cornerstones of PS3 online action; Killzone 2 and Burnout Paradise in addition to NFS: Shift and DiRT2 – with some hastily arranged Uncharted 2 thrown in, which by the way is going to be an online classic.
As usual we have Killzone 2 kicking off the action with the Monday night 19:00 (BST) open Boot Camp session, these ‘Meets’ are completely open to everyone, there are no DLC requirements and you don’t even need a headset although as always online gaming is better with one. These open sessions are the ideal way for beginners to get to grips with the title in the online Warzone, as well as giving seasoned regulars a chance to fine tune their tactics. So if you’ve got a copy of Killzone 2 and want to get in on the action, then sign up for the Boot Camp in our TSA Meets community tool.
The spotlight turns to Criterion’s masterpiece Burnout Paradise on Tuesday 21:00 (BST) which has proved very difficult to play online as most people seem to want to mess about rather than having fun doing the challenges, if you’d want to meet up with like-minded people and see just how good an online title this really is. All you have to do to get a piece of the action is visit our TSA Meets page and add your name to the list, don’t worry about the event being over subscribed as you can pop along to our forums to arrange additional hosts.
Wednesday is the day we jump into a flying Delorean and take a trip back in time all the way to 2007, yep… it’s time to dust off your copies of Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare pop it into your PS3 and get some online killing done. These will be private games so again the only way to join in is to get your name down in the TSA Meets tool. Friday is the turn of everyone’s favourite portly member of the royal family, as Fat Princess takes centre stage. So if you’re partial to a bit of chubby chasing and would like to avoid a load of internet ‘randoms’ whilst playing, then pop right along to our community online TSA Meets game scheduling tool and simply click to show your interest.
This brings me on to another important feature of the tool: The ability to withdraw your name if you realise you aren’t going to be able to make, all you have to do is visit the TSA Meets page, find the event you have your name down for and simply click again to withdraw your name. Not only does this help the hosts out but it also enables someone else to join in, repeatedly being absent from events you’ve signed up for may lead to a ban on using the service altogether, and even an extended session on the naughty step.
So a variety of online games already arranged and if I was a betting man I’d anticipate someone arranging some Uncharted 2 get togethers along with the popular DiRT 2 and NFS: Shift, this week should also see more MAG beta keys being distributed which I’m hoping to get online with at some point, and we’re still to see the tool be used to arrange any TSA Meets of some of the not-so-popular PS3 games like Unreal Tournament III, Saints Row 2, Crash Commando or many others, so again I’d have to ask the question, what are you going to arrange next?
