“I saw this billboard today in Shreveport, Louisiana,” says this NeoGAF thread. “There are a lot of movies filmed here, and this one is about some sort of alien takeover of Los Angeles.” Don’t get too excited – although we’re almost certain Insomniac will be (or already are) working on a third Resistance game, this isn’t some official announcement of the game, more a subtle bit of in-movie advertising that’ll make much more sense when the movie is out. The movie in question, we assume, is Battle: Los Angeles, which is due out in February 2011.
If you want to make that confirmation that Resistance 3 will be out on or around that date, then go for it.

What the hell, it’s the weekend. I’m gonna take this as confirmation that R3 is out Feb 2011

Well if that is the game then part of it is in New York. Like all the other films about alien invasions over the last 50 years or so
Seems like a plausible time for Resistance 3 to come out and sony really have learned the power of advertising if their putting Billboards in films

I haven’t even got R1 or R2
. Although there is a good chance i’ll get this one, can anyone recommend Resistance 2?

It’s pretty good and the Multiplayer are great. I really should play through again, it deserves it, but it’s hard to make time for it.

i preferred the first one because of the single player campaign was co op. Played it so much at my friends house we could play right through the game on superhuman in a day (sad i know but there’s nothing to do round here) R2 is great as well but the trophies are taking the piss

Taking the piss? I thought they were pretty easy to be honest.

10,000 online ranked kills is taking the piss imo. Everything else is pretty easy though.

Agree with rht992 insofar as I preferred the first game because of the 2 player co-op mode.

I preferred the single player ecperience of R2 but the multiplayer was much better in 1

I’m gonna have to agree with 3shirts here, though I did still grind through 10,000 kills in R2 to get the Platinum. I had over 20,000 in R:FoM and I swear it was never that long or tedious.

But the resistance games were great (apart from ripping off several great shooters. mainly Half Life 2) its got giant aline monsters, tanks, crazy weapons and you play a really boring guy who somehow gets superpowers! well you used to play him . . . . .

Resistance 2 was great online but lacked… something in the campaign mode. I hope R3 is coming and I hope it focuses on improving single-player greatly.

February is my birthday so this would be good.
Not being out next year is a good thing, means they won’t have to rush it.
Can’t wait to see how the story develops!

I think that Resistance is getting a little bit repetative and boring now.
Kill Chimera, blow up machine, kill chimera, blow up even bigger machine….

This one might be.
Kill Chimera, Kill more chimera, kill ugly looking women, blow up machine, kill chimera, blow up another identical machine

Or you know it could through a curve ball and make it more like.
Kill human as chimera. Kill more humans as chimera. Get cured of being a chimera. Then kill chimera.

Aren’t all shooters repetitive then, because you always have to kill enemies

Atleast Resistance 2 has a large variety of enimies, other fps have just one type of enemy.

I think it’s a safe bet to say November of 2010, but I’m sure Sony will let us know the exact date.
Also I hope you somehow get to play as Hale- yes I’ve played R2- but if you can play as Hale you would have cool powers and guns, it would be like a sweet mixture of Resistance and Bio Shock- which I think would be awesome.

I only played Resistance: Fall of Man, and participated in the beta for Resistance 2. Resistance 2 is pretty cheap here in Norway right now – should I go go?

i started playing resistance 2 3 weeks ago, and the co-op is simply amazing been playing for several hour now, and the only reason i dont play even more is that i dont have the time for it
so, if u like shooters, go for it
