There has been quite a bit of uproar over the online experience of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon rising, but Codemasters are to soon ’fix’ this. Executive Producer, Sion Lenton, has said that they will be releasing a patch aimed at ‘optimising’ the network and making online ‘flow’ better. This patch will be accompanied by some DLC too; although his discussions were 360 based and there was no mention of the PS3, but I would imagine that it wouldn’t be far behind if not simultaneous.

Lenton also revealed that more DLC is in the works and could include such things as extra vehicle use or vehicle specific missions as well as other additional ‘equipment’. He was very nonchelant about the process of DLC and its limitations, saying:

It’s not a lot of fuss for us to make new content – it’s actually quite easy for us to get it out there, with regards to things like levels, game modes, etc.

He went on to say that more content will be coming toward the end of the year, which they hope to announce soon, and that they may even be looking into making the campaign portion of the game longer.

It would appear that Codemasters, or Sion Lenton at least, are very enthusiastic to keep the DLC coming, which is always good news. They have their eyes on the online mechanics and are ‘tracking’ its performance. Expect more tweaks soon.
