  1. That sucks.

    • That’s an intelligent, well thought out post. Care to elaborate as to why “that sucks”?

      • it just sucks

      • With one (American focused) demo and no interesting add-on game content I share the ‘That sucks’ point of view. I hope that answered the ‘why’ ?

  2. thx for info more dynamic themes nice. i will have a bit of this to Midnight Club Los Angeles – Police Car Pack (free) PEGI 12+

    • I have too many games to finish to even play demos at the moment so not that bothered

  3. Wtf?!? 1 demo! We havnt had any demo’s in weeks, and all there is today is just add-ons. Common, SCEE!

    • Its only down to Sony to release demo’s for their own games. It’s up to the various devlopers/publishers if they want to release a demo. Sony are normally pretty good with getting demo’s out for their games. I don’t think Sony make enough psn games to release one a week either (and they released .detuned last week).

      • what like the clank demo?

    • demos? I just want the bayonetta demo to hell with the rest

  4. Can someone explain how Guitar Hero gets 4 songs that are £1.59 and Rock Band gets many more that are £0.99

Rock Band wins… I mean, look at the number of songs in A-C of Rock Band, then the total number of songs between GH4 and 5, Rock Band has almost as much.

    • Activision/Kotick.

      • “interesting” revenues.

    • I can never work that out how they can charge more. GH will always get trounced by RB I own both and have never once bought a GH song but have spent a small fortune on RB.

    • Activision are the new evil empire haven’t you heard?

      • they took over from tesco on that front

    • Rock Band indeed wins, to bad they really doesn’t care about the EU sometimes.

      • MS often sign up time bound exclusivity as far as Europe is concerned.

  5. Not too bad an update but more demos, definitely. Especially with the run up to Christmas. Can’t like it if I don’t try it (not strictly true but you catch my drift). :D

  6. I prefer real games than demos most of the time.
People should have a look at Everyday Shooter, as it’s really an interesting take on the twin stick shooter genre, with a good soundtrack.

    • +1 For mentioning everyday shooter, although it is without doubt the hardest game ever made.

      • Superb game, they should do the PSN trick of updating it with Trophies to boost sales. Not that it needs them. It’s such an addictive game and I love the way the music ties in with the shooting.

    • I might have a look at everyday shooter.

  7. Another week of nothing special…. :(

  8. Awesome update!
    Of course, I jest.
The Dante’s Inferno video might help me make up my mind about whether I should pre-order or not.

  9. Eyepet and cross edge DLC… Complete win, well done SCEE!

  10. Very boring update, no new games and only one demo which I’m not at all interested in :-P I’ll try out those dragon age videos though.

  11. Not bad in terms of PSP stuff – not great, but not bad. Playing Chinatown Wars now, so will update ASAP.

    • I think £30 for the D/load version of China Town Wars is a joke, i feel sorry for people that invested in a PSPGO, I’m just glad i resisted it because i would be really unhappy and pissed off right now!

      • With a psn card from zavii (you save 20%-ish) it comes down to £24 (full price it’s still cheaper than EA games – they seem to price theirs at £32 on the store). The cheapest price on the net for a UMD version is £23 so the price isn’t that much of a problem if you shop around for psn cards.

      • Nope, still doesn’t justify it being £30, it should be cheaper than the UMD you know being as there is no packaging!

      • It’ll probably be more than £30 in the shops tomorrow (as psp games are normally 40% cheaper online) and I can only find one online shop thats charging less than I’d have to pay for it using the psn store too.

I’ll stick it on my psp and my 3 brothers ones as well. Works out a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a copy each.

    • “and I can only find one online shop thats charging less than I’d have to pay for it using the psn store too”

Your not looking hard enough shopto, zavii, thehut, gamesbasement, play.com, all have it for £24.99 or less!

      • The key to that quote is “than I’d have to pay”. With the 20% discount I got on my PSN cards at zavii (25% on a few as well) it’ll cost me between £22.50 and £24. Coolshop has it for 22.99 everywhere else has it for £23.95 or more.

The download is my cheapest option

  12. No Abes, Critter Crunch, new PS1 classics that are already in other regions – pretty poor really, in fact not just pretty poor but really poor. I’m that jaded by the consistent failure I’ve lost interest.

    • Yeah, I was hoping for Critter Crunch at least. :(

    • Blame the publishers/developers for there being no Abe or Critter Crunch.

      • I’m not blaming anybody, the devs/publishers want as many people as possible to play/buy their products

I just think the situation stinks, I’m fed up with and bored by it.
f5 Thursdays for me are now pointless as all their seems to be is a tide of premium content for stuff we’ve already bought (or chosen not to) and very little new content.

regional parity is something a competing platform acheives with little or no fuss (and they have the same dev/publisher issue you mention), god knows why Sony have such a problem with it with the US not getting Trine, and us not getting about a thousand things.

      • I’m saying blame them. E-mail them or contact them in someway (as Mike Kebby on the ps blog often recommendeds) to put presure on them.

What Sony could do is delay all releases until versions for all regions are ready but then we’d all wait longer. Maybe competing platforms have less rigorous testing or offer financial benefits but that cost will also end up at the customer at some point.

Ratchet and Clank is out 2 weeks later over here so naturally Sony will want the demo nearer to the actual release (the actual game is out in about a week in the US).

      • Mike Kebby would say that

Even when titles are with SCEE, they are ridiculously slow at getting it out there. The competing platform not only has regional parity, but also has far more content as demos for everything released are mandatory rather than only about 1 in 10-50 PS3 releases receiving demos.

the current system stinks, it’s alright Sony same blame somebody else, but its THEIR eco-system which leads to this disparity, they need to change the way they do business if people are feeling let down, which every week they are as it reflect poorly on them.

Sony’s regionalised system often leaves people feeling let down, the competing platform’s regionalised system it makes no difference to.

      • As far I was aware the competing platform only has compulsary demos for download games not retail ones.

Why don’t you buy the games on the competing platform?

    • Oh I didn’t mention the Ratchet demo either which is on the US store later….

      • Ratchet demo is next week over here.

  13. Always sad when there are no new games out, but the Queen pack for Rock Band makes this an awesome week all by itself.

    • Yeah that’s where my money’s going this week. Fingers crossed for a second Queen pack in the future with Hammer To Fall and Don’t Stop Me Now in it and that’ll be another tenner gone.

    • Shouldn’t there be a Beatles pack this week too for Rock Band Beatles? Abbey Road was released on Tuesday for 360.

  14. They are getting worse each week for PS3 lol, US has had Street Fighter Alpha 2 for months Sony I want it already lol

  15. Let’s see if they managed to add previews to Dynamic themes this week…

    • yeah we need previews! :)
