Double PSN Update Next Week [30]

Frozenbyte have just let us know that whilst many players were fascinated by the concept of Trine, they wanted to try it beforehand. Well, the developers have listened to those players and we can today confirm that Frozenbyte are really happy to offer a demo of the first 2 levels of the game which you can enjoy in solo and in co-op mode with friends. The demo will be part of the PSN Store Update later today, and don’t forget that Trine has full support for Trophies and also features a Platinum Trophy as the ultimate reward.

  1. :D
Try this for sure. I tried the PC demo and thought it was meh, I prefer using a controller though.

    • I played the PC version and felt the same, but I bought it anyway (I think I was drunk: easy eWallet + alcohol = Empty real wallet).

However, the PS3 version is better, probably because of the co-op and, like you said, the controller.

      • Drink is a killer when it comes to online purchases

      • The PC version has co-op too for what it’s worth. What this title really needs is online co-op though, something the 360 version which launches next year will have. Frozenbyte have said that if sales figures are high enough they may look at implementing it through a patch later, but with the pricing of the game I doubt it, even if it is an excellent title.

  2. i was never going to pay that price without a tester so great

  3. Played PC demo, it just reminded me how terrible my platform game skills are…

  4. gotta be worth a look, never played the PC version but I have heard good things about it so i will defo give it a go

  5. Cool, wasnt sure about this game, but a good offline co-op MP game is something Im in the market for so a demo is welcome..

    • There is no offline co-op on trine. I believe there are plans to patch it in at a later date but at the moment its a single player only game.

      • Really??
I could have sworn I played this with a mate offline on my couch a few weeks back….. o.O

      • I could be mistaken, it has happened many times before. I found a forum thread on the frozenbyte website saying it would be patched in after release but that was an old post. When I load up the game I cant find an option for multiplayer.

      • That is because you just have to connect the second controller and press start on that one and you can get in with another character…. I am pretty sure about it too.

      • Yeah my bad. I had tried it before and it didnt work. Thats because my Guitar hero dongle was listed as pad 2. Once I changed my 2nd pad to register as pad 2 it works fine. Thanks for clearing that up.

  6. Wow, first proper good PSN news for me in quite a while, fanx!

  7. Wasn’t we told there’d be no demo for this?

  8. I will buy this when/ if it is online enabled

  9. Cool, hoping to see the 1.01 patch for US soon, looks like Sony US is the problem… again :P

  10. It will be good to try this, and I may even end up buying it.
Played the PC demo a while ago, but I’d definately like to try the PS3 version.
