if it’s like the xbox service the 24hour period wouldn’t start until you actually started watching the movie.
and you can have the movie for 14 days before it expires, but once you watch it that reduces to just 24 hours.
of course if you start watching it before it’s finished downloading and lose your internet for 24 hours you’d be stuffed.

not only do sony own movie studios but tv studios too.
and itunes have loads of tv shows throughout europe.
if we don’t get them on the ps3 it’s down to scee not putting the work in.

I can see it being quite interesting if you rent a movie and the filesize is huge.

For instance, lets say its a 24 hour rental (like on the Xbox equivelant) and you rented a film that was 2gb in size. Most normal people would spent most of that time downloading the film, which makes the service pointless.
Further more, if the films are going to be of DVD quality, why bother renting, it’s cheaper to buy if that is the case.

While, Yay! for the video store itself, the list mentioned seems to be all mainstream, blockbuster no-brainers.. Is that what we’ve got to look forward to, or will they cater for people who prefer movies that make them think?

Im hoping they’ll be aiming at as wide a demographic as possible with this, because endless sequels and remakes are not really my bag..
