Once again Asda are doing their best to undercut everyone and will be selling Modern Warfare 2 for the princely sum of £32. The advert below appears in todays “Daily Record”. The deal will run from midnight tonight through till Friday so no need to queue up at some ungodly hour just to grab a copy.
In addition, according to some websites Sainsbury are planning on undercutting Asda and are actually selling MW2 for £26. The receipt below is for the Holborn Branch which happens to be about 15 mins stroll through central London for me, so expect official TSA approved confirmation of this price around lunchtime.
Cheap washing up liquid, too.

I’ve heard that another supermarket may go as low as £25 in this latest price-cutting conflict.

It was cheaper to use very.co.uk and use their £25 off discount code
Although this still is a good deal for those who are still looking

There’s an Asda around the corner, I think I’ll just do that tomorrow rather than hunting for a Sainsbury’s on spec.

I’ll nip along to confirm Sainsbury price at lunchtime, although this does mean I will be entering the domain of my stalker (he works at that Sainsbury). I should get danger money.

I’ve been planning to go Sainsbury on the way to work tomorrow. Bet my store will do soemthing stupid like; (a) Doesn’t sell them OR (b) The price isn’t applicable to my store.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. I live in NI and quite often offers don’t apply over here!

Exactly my thoughts, I dont fancy getting on a bus for an hour (dam bloody broken car) to eventually get there and find they dont sell them. I have a tescos down the road though, which arnt the greatest for games, still no Ratchet and Clank in there yet.
Dont know what to do really. I wish my car worked!!

Just rang Sainsburys in Oldbury, West Mids and they wouldn’t reserve me a copy (as is mentioned on the hotdeals site) but did confirm the price of £26. They said they have ample PS3 and 360 copies in store already.
That’s me up early then.
Bugger.

If the supermarkets aren’t close or run out of stock head to curry’s or pcw who usually price match plus 10% of the difference. Asda near me had no stock for w@w for £27 so I went to curry’s with the newspaper ad and got it for £25.26 or something!

This is my position. But to be fair a 8 hour campaign isn’t worth it and I prefer Battlefield online

I think this is the way I feel. I’m really not sure about it – or the FPS genre in general – but at these prices, I’m standing like a meerkat wots just heard an eagle.

Aw, thats just not fair.. I’ve been ranting about how Im not going to buy it, or Im getting a preowned copy just to boycott Activision and then the supermarkets release it at this price?? I can feel my will crumbling at the eleventh hour..

Exactly. I only bought MW1 for the single player mode (multiplayer left me cold), but £26? I could play it and trade it in for the same price a week or two later…
