I agree fully, KZ2 seems a lot tighter and immersive for me. I enjoy KZ2's online more too, and the campaign is a lot longer and better looking even without all the set pieces. I'll soon be selling my copy of MW2, didn't hit the right spot for me.

KZ2 obviously has better graphics but in the gameplay sector its all a matter of opinion, I've spent more hours playing through one level of killzone 2 than on the whole campaign of MW2. Personally I think KZ2 is more immersive and tighter, with a near impossible elite difficulty! (Damn you, Radec!)

The first level was a mess imo., I hope they intended to do it that hectic, because it was a bit over the top. The following levels was great though.

Just like CC and N, I wasn't too fussed about getting this game, but then when I saw what prices the supermarkets were going to be selling them for, I suddenly became a bit more interested!! ;)

Unfortunately, both my local Sainsbury's and Morrisons had sold out by the time I got there, so it's back to Uncharted 2 for me, and Assassins Creed 2 when it's released next week!!

The SP does seem to be a series of mini plots with hardly any interlinking between them. Like you say "all over the place". I still really enjoy it though somehow and got round to playing MP last night, WOW....seriously!

The only thing that annoys me about this game is the blood splatters across the screen 1) it looks like someones just shook up a can of cherryade and opened it in your face. 2) Way too much of it, I cant bloody see anything!

I can see myself spending many hours on this, probably not as much as Killzone but still more than enouh to warrant my efforts to get to Derby Sainsburys early in the morning to spend £26 on it.

It sounds to me that Activision & IW should have had the guts to just package this up as a multiplayer only game and release it via the networks and retail. A bit like Warhawk or Socom.

The multiplayer sounds the strongest part of the game with the single player been a tacked on collection of amazing over the top action pieces that last about 6/7 hours with no real thought about the story. Now there might not be anything wrong with that but its a lot to pay for what is essentially a multiplayer game. Uncharted 2 has managed to get all three components right, single player, multiplayer, and co-op, so it can be done.

I haven't jumped on the hype train for this one and i don't mind looking in from the sidelines to see the reactions of people but so far it seems people are impressed but its the multiplayer that is the real show stopper.

Hey guys! Nice write up.

I had the chance to get about a third of the way through single player and dabble a bit online. Overal impressions of the single player campagn are low. It feels like their main research was bad war movies and a copy of Generation Kill for script refrence.

The graphics don't sit well with me but the multiplayer has always been the reason behind this purchase.

It's superb and it keeps massaging that 'reward' gland at all the right times. Still haven't spec-ops'ed it up yet but I have high hopes from what fruit's said.

All in all, UC2 Keeps my GOTY vote unless MW2 manages to perform some serious miracles.

See y'all online

I'm two levels in on Veteran and it isn't proving quite the challenge previous titles have been. Sure it has the same fast-paced action, but so far i'm just "enjoying" the campaign rather than being blown away by it. For me - purchasing Modern Warfare 2 was all about the multiplayer anyway, the £40 i dropped on it was for the fun to be had online and with Spec Ops being so damn good - it was money well spent. The campaign is an addition to the multiplayer experience, those not looking to take this online are only getting around 30% of the value IMO

Played a very short campaign game last night, just to see what it was like and I totally agree about the cheesiness, if I never hear another 'hooah!' it will be too soon.. The 'speeches' in-between levels are a bit off imo as well and just come across as trying to justify why they feel the need to invade middle eastern countries.. Maybe its because of my viewpoint on the whole, so-called "War on Terror" (is it still called that?) but I found it a bit close to the bone. I only got as far as driving down backstreets on top of a humvee, so not even scratched the surface yet, but Im assuming we're not always going to be playing the US right? I much preferred the SAS missions in the first (4th?) game so Im hoping they're going to return.

I really like the idea of the spec ops missions and from what fruit said, they sound better than I'd hoped. Finally, co-op thats actually useful, rather than two people just playing the same game..

I skipped the MP side of COD4, and got very much into Killzone 2 MP instead, so Im looking forward to finally experiencing that as well.. It seems that that side is where all the fun is in this game..
