Facebook might have been the latest addition to the ever growing list of Firmware tweaks that the so-called, much rumoured 3.10 will bring an hour ago, but now it’s all about Polish language support. Yep, apparently Sony Poland have confirmed to at least one Polish website that as of next week they’ll be able to have the XMB in their native language, and Polish language support was mentioned to us off the record a couple of months back so we’re going with this being in 3.10.
Sure, we’ve been alternating between stories on Call of Duty’s online mode falling to bits and all kinds of stuff rumoured for firmware updates for the last few weeks, but hopefully this is the last one for a while. At least, that is, until Sony decide to confirm the damned thing one way or another, which, given the recent Facebook leak, won’t be all that far into the future. So, to recap: Facebook, red gamercards, a new photo browser, no cross game chat, Polish language support and a partridge in a pear tree.
Can’t wait.

Im assuming Facebook intergration is a url on the XMB, like the iPlayer? I’ll have to keep that one quiet, I use facebook to distract my wife while Im playing on the PS3, if she starts using FB on PS3, it’ll be the worst of both worllds.. :(

The polish language option was probably demanded by Sony hereford.(joke)It would be nice if they could sort the trophy sync out because it seems to break if i don’t do it after each trophy. Can’t stand stand facebook myself lots of people seem to love it i suppose.

No not another week of ‘this firmware bricked my PS3′, ‘i hate orange, why cant i have beige’ and ‘why didn’t you release cross game chat’
Bet its the last Firmware of 2009…. TSA got a 2009 firmware recap lined up for Dec 31st?

Well, from the screen shots that were shown, I’m thoroughly looking forward to being able to use facebook via the ps3, but… I’m even more interested in the new photo layout. Who knows, that layout may also look good for the video section.
Next week should be a goodan, Theres a firmware update for the video store and I’m guessing Sony would like all consoles to be on the same firmware, so could this be packed in for next week?

Sounds good, even without the x-game chat.
Like the x-mas bit at the bottom

As much as I love any improvement to the PS3, I really wish they would focus on improving the friends/network aspect. (Not just cross-game chat.. But that would be immense).

Hmmm… how poor. No cross-game chat? FFS!!!
They better had at least fix the COD invites issues and friend lists issue otherwise Sony officialy are not delivering an online service worthy of the price (despite the fact it is free).

Red gamercard (orange?), but on the picture(s) at joystiq I do see a nice box with colors.. so maybe we can adjust the color?..

A new photo browser? So what was wrong with the old one?

“a new photo browser” Whats wrong with the old one. And I don’t see a point in cross game chat. I Think Sony fans just want what the 360 fan have but i guess people will be people.

Why don’t they do us a favour, and stop making the playstation freeze whenever i leave the internet browser.

My PS3 freezes much more than since I first got it. It freezes more with every update it seems. It only seems to occur when I am doing something to do with ‘Friends’ on the XMB or doing something online-orientated on a game. Really quite irritating and getting old, I can not see how my big black box will be able to cope with cross-game chat (which the PS3 really does need) and how the general online of PSN will be able to manage.

Do you know how to access the PS3 Recovery Menu?

Everybody should run the ‘restore file system’ option on a regular basis (every month or two should do), just to keep things ticking over nicely.
