According to MCV, Alan Wake has been confirmed to be released in May 2010 simultaneously around the world. The 360 exclusive has been high up my “want” list for a while and I’m truly excited for May now. Previously given a Spring 2010 release, the action-thriller was beautifully presented at E3 and hopefully soon we’ll know the exact date.

A source close to MCV also told them the game will be released “in the style of a Hollywood movie.”  Could we be seeing another game to movie adaptation after May, or are they just trying to give Activision a run for their (buckets full) of money?

Which reminds me, when is the Uncharted movie due?

  1. Another “game craze” (It plays like a movie!)

  2. Shame, I was hoping it would be out sooner, but I suppose Splinter Cell and Mass Effect 2 will cover the wait nicely. Game is looking ace so far.

  3. I might have to get a 360 just to play this.

    • It was one of the reasons I bought my 360. So I’m ready for it. There was obviously more than just this one game though.

    • Yep me2 :) I’ve been scouting for some proper deals on a elite system, hoping to find a Jasper.

      • I will definately buy a 360. I had one, wish I didnt get rid of it but I am also trying to find a jasper elite :D I really want to play this, GTA expansions and Forza 2.

  4. Not a huge surprise with May being slap bang in the middle of Spring but as with any release date until they name a date I’d take it all with a pinch of salt

  5. 2 reasons why i should have kept my 360 this & gay tony

  6. wait a minute!

this game was announced years ago!

they said it is finished, they just polishing it now!

and yet, they still release it sometime next year?

i believe it is safe to say Yamauchi works incognito for Microsoft! :D

    • Completely agree. I remember seeing this… um… at console launch (or at least within the first few months). Definitely been studying at the ‘Polyphony School of Release Dates’. :D

  7. does look like an interesting game, might have to check it out, i’d hope there’s a demo though.

  8. Shame I don’t have a 360 !! ;)

    • Agreed. This is about the only 360-exclusive that I actually wish was coming to PS3. This game will either be nigh-on perfection or completely terrible in my view. Or it will just be passable but love or hate. It does seem like my cup of tea though and I like games boasting originality.

      • “This is about the only 360-exclusive that I actually wish was coming to the PS3″
It WAS coming to the PS3, but remedy canceled it.

  9. i’ve watched a few videos and the using light as a weapon thing reminds me of a game i played a few years ago called obscure.
worked almost exactly the same way as it does in this game if i recall correctly.

  10. “Previously given a Spring 2010 release”

And previously given a Fall 2009 release, and Summer 2009 release, and Spring 2009 release, and Fall 2008 release, and Spring 2008 release. I wanted this game from the first time they showed the trailer WAY back at E3 2005. It will be at least 5 years since then by the time the game comes out, and I can honestly say I do not care anymore. This was the main reason I got a damn Xbox to begin with, but I am selling it before the holidays. It’s funny how much people want to call PS3 the delaystation when Alan Wake and Splinter Cell have been in hibernation for longer than I care to remember. This isn’t a fanboy post at all, but if I sound mad, it’s because I am. If the game turns out to be good, I’ll have to miss out on it. I just do not have interest any longer.

  11. Looking forward to it was expecting it out this month lol but I can wait as they are tons of great titles coming out along the way :)
