I had no idea about this either , havent played in a while . I do remember ages ago a story that said loading times between levels had been increased as a result but i thought Sony Liverpool acted swiftly and just removed them almost the next day . Didnt know they where back .

I've not played WipEout for ages so don't know how intrusive these adverts are, but I don't think I could be seriously arsed with signing out and then back in everytime I play. Not only that having to uninstall, redownload and reinstall (asuming you got it of the PSN) :s

Thanks for reporting this. The adverts are just as intrusive in Europe. In what way can an advert for a Rocky Blu Ray be non-intrusive on the loading screen of a futuristic racer? These are not loading screens, we should call them whay they are: they are advertisement screens, and Sony have no right to put these adverts in a game we alread paid for, effectively changing the product I have bought. I made a one-time transaction for an ad-free game and Sony have gone back and attempted to change the nature of this transaction - effectively having another dip in our pockets. I would not have bought the game if I had known these adverts would be put in. Every purchase implies a form of contract and this is a breach of contract with me as their customer. I believe these ads are an experiment, the thin end of the wedge, and if it is considered a success we can look forward to messages that "your game will start in 30 seconds...." for a lot more games in future. And don`t kid yourself that these are "paying" for online services. What evidence is there for that? The idea is simply to have us get used to ads so we don`t complain about them, then they become a fact of life and an extra "revenue stream" at our expense.
