Assassin’s Creed 2 Kicks Off ‘Uplay’

I recieved an e-mail from Ubisoft today which reveals that Assassin’s Creed 2 will be the first game to incorporate the company’s bonus scheme called ‘Uplay’. The reward system, which is currently running in Beta mode, is designed to give players extra, exclusive content to help them in-game.

As you progress through Assassin’s Creed 2 and complete certain missions or actions you will be rewarded ‘Units’, which you can then trade in for extra content such as weapons, ammo and maps. These rewards will only be available to Uplay members and they will be for the three major platforms: PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. So, complete a particularly tricky puzzle in Assassin’s Creed 2 and you could find yourself with enough Units to purchase a new outfit for your assassin.

You can log on to to the Uplay system via your console or via the website to claim your rewards. There will be varying content depending on the amount of Units you wish to spend; for example, a PS3 premium theme may cost you 10 units, but extra weaponry may cost you 40 units. You can of course save your units so it might be wise to see what’s on offer before you cash in.

At the moment, due to its Beta status, only the ‘Win’ scheme is available but Ubisoft say that more is to come. As mentioned, it all kicks off with Assassin’s Creed 2 but Splinter Cell Conviction and R.U.S.E are also going to be including the Uplay reward scheme with more and more games to follow.

You can get all the details and sign up to the Uplay scheme via the website. If this works as it’s supposed to, this could be a very interesting thing to be a part of.
