This is going to be very brief as I’ve just stuck my head in the office on my way home from the PSN Video Launch. Her Maj The Queen opened Parliament today and during her speech she outlined the governments plans to cut off persistent file sharers. Cut off their internet connection that is, not their head – although she is Queen so she could do that.
The very good news is that speech did not include the 50p broadband tax that was slated to arrive early next year. That will be launched later in the year if Labour is still in power (hint: they won’t be). Her Maj has saved us all 50p a month, or six quid a year!
In other good news, all games aimed at those aged 12 and above will have a compulsory age rating.

She is the Queen so she could cut off our heads.

“if Labour is still in power (hint: they won’t be)”
Not so sure. If the British public are stupid enough to vote for Jedward, Gordo may yet win an election.

I like to think they’re voting for jedward because they’re smart enough to see Xfactor for the farce that it is..

It’s about getting the UK up to a passable speed. I used to have a 20MBit line at the old place but the new house (read: last 18 months) has a suffering 512 to 1024kbps connection. Basically, utter cock. So I would be very happy to see the country provide a solid 2Mbit connection across the land. It’ll benefit the country in the long-term. Equally, I would’ve been happy paying it if I was at the old place too. Hope it still goes ahead.

I’d happily pay a bit more each month to my ISP as a tax to get the UK broadband infastructure up to a decent and consistent speed.
