Whilst we’re still waiting on the green light to discuss the finer details of the PlayStation Network Video Delivery Service (catchy) we can say that it’s really not very far away. At all. Myself and Davs are on the way to the launch party in London right now, and as soon as we can there’ll be tweets going out [@_nofi,@djhsecondnature] (and then the rest of the guys are on standby to pick them up) but in the meantime, here’s the final launch trailer which gives you an exclusive idea of the content coming soon…
If anyone else is going to the party, say hi, and we’ll see you there.

NO, of course not. That would mean we’ve spoiled the surprise. Clean your ears out.

Oooh nice. Looks like I’ll have to stick a new HDD on the Christmas list. And a popcorn maker.

Slapped a nice 320GB drive in my 40GB model few months back. 40 quid from amazon, pretty pleased with it. However, I didn’t need one that big, even downloading every demo I could possibly want I haven’t gone below 200GB free.

I’m looking forward to giving the Video Store a try, probably more so for renting HD titles.

That’s probably all I’ll use it for. Prices will have to be reasonable though.

Can one of the guys there ask or find out if the movies purchased can be exported to an external HDD from the XMB. A bit similar to PlayTV files that you export to the XMB, they can be transferred to an external HDD so i would like to know if i can do the same.
I have around 500gb of external HDD waiting to be filled with HD films from the store if the price is right of course. If it wont allow this then it would force me into rent only and the prices would have to be good to beat my love film subscription.
Thanks and have a good time…

they updated the firmware a while back to allow you to backup your downloaded store videos to an external drive, for the americans at least, the same function should work for our store.

Is it a back up you can play from the external source or do you have to restore it to the XMB? I know it might seem a dum question but back up can mean different things.
Thanks for the info though. After the PlayTV DRM debacle i was pleased to see that exporting to an external HDD was allowed, although it does reduce the quality a tad.
I am sure TSA will have the full details later tonight or early tomorrow.

Cool, I’m looking forward to the vido store. Got a 1TB external HDD connected to my PS3, so file size won’t be the problem. But I guess it’s gonna be looong downloads.
Have fun on the launch party
