i think mw2 is a shoe in for game of the year.
not because it’s the best game but simply because being a public vote this competition is little more than a popularity contest.
and i have no doubt that on that score mw2 will win.
does it deserve to win?
dunno, but i voted for uncharted.

sorry everybody but i voted mass effect 2 as most anticipated.

Most anticipated game category was a bit thin, not one of them interested me.
I plumped for Heavy Rain in the vote for your own section.
Not sure why but i feel the categorys should work in the other direction for some reason, Building up to the crescendo of ‘Game of the Year’

This is ridiculous: of the 5 games available for GoTY, 1 came out last week, 1 came out 2 days ago and 1 comes out TOMORROW. What. The. Fuck.
I’m gonna vote for L4D2 – I’ve only played one (well, 0.9 – fetching gas is hard!) campaign, so I’m basically *guessing* that it’s probably gonna be the best, but it’s not a particularly informed opinion.

same here… the biggest shame was not include uncharted on best multiplayer game or Killzone.other then borderlands there are 3 expansions in there Halo ODST, CoD MW2 and L4D2. But since Microsoft and Viacom (which owns SpikeTV) are partners i can´t expect less.
This should be tag as BVGA for Bulsh**(or Bias) VideoGame Awards

The problem with all these awards is that so many fanboys vote on them that the results don’t actually reflect the best game in the category, just how many of each type of console owner voted on it.

They would be a lot better decided I think, if a panel was made up to decide the winners like they do for most film awards.

Agreed. Uncharted 2 is by far the best. I only rented it but it was brilliant. I still need to buy it.

Naughty Dog cleaned up in my votes, although ThatGameCompany & Flower also got a share.

It’s quite telling that this generation Sony’s exclusives are 1st/2nd party and not 3rd party which means there is zero chance of them appearing on a non-Sony console in the future (although a Sackboy game would sell a bazillion copies on the Wii & DS)

I voted yesterday and Naughty Dog/Uncharted 2 cleaned up for me. It was tough to call between ND and Rocksteady though. It’s a shame Batman has competition in the form of Uncharted because it does deserve something.
