I believe if it was a close-up hand to hand fight Kratos would definitely win, but Snake would definitely win if he could be sneaking around at a fair distance shooting the crap out of Kratos with his M4 customized with steroids

If Snake got too close, he wouldn’t stand a chance because Kratos would just hammer Square three times and spin around with his blades sticking out.
But from afar, Snake would dominate Kratos, and lets be honest, Snake would know about Kratos LONG before Kratos knew about Snake.
So I’m going with Snake!

Snake wins. He’s beaten nuclear walking tanks, cyber-ninjas, a vampire and really bad surfer’s nipple from his sneaking suit. Besides, half the time he “wins” the baddie just comes back again anyway, albeit as some sort of disembodied member. Snake wins, Kratos returns in the sequel, everyone’s happy.
