LatinoReview is reporting that Kyle Ward, previously tagged with the screenwriting role for the new Uncharted movie, has been dropped. The site says that Kyle’s deal “fell apart at the last minute mainly” because Sony didn’t want to wait around for a draft while Ward was “tied down and contractually obligated to deliver drafts for his other commitments – mainly Hitman 2.”
Producer Avi Arad is still onboard though, but the writing duties now appear to be with Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, the duo responsible for the Sahara and next year’s Conan. We’re not suggesting these two are lower rent than Kyle Ward, of course, but not having Kyle Ward on the writing team is surely a big blow for the ambitious project.

Sahara was piss poor. So much so that the author of the book tried to sue them for being so shit (not the actual law suit but that’s what it boils down to).
Worried a little. Next they’ll announce that Uwe Boll is directing!

Sahara was just a bit of fun!
Were you expecting a masterpiece?
And I’ve always been worried about this. It’s a videogame movie..

Sahara was not fun!
Maybe it was just because it had Matthew McConaughey in it! I wasn’t expecting a masterpiece, no. I was expecting a light-hearted adventure film. It was neither fun nor enjoyable!
In my opinion of course

What about Street Fighter, that movie was awesome. (Please don’t hate me, I actually like Street Fighter. It’s so dumb you have to laugh. Plus it has JCVD).

Oh come on!
“You came to fight a mad-man and instead you found a GOD!”
“He’s the greatest cage fighter since Iron Fist”
“What happened to him?”
“He retired… and became ME!”
“One man… against everything he’s got?! The driver… would have to be… out of his mind!”

Uwe Boll’s “Postal” was pretty good tbh – a piece of art in some way. It even involved his self-criticism.

As long as Nic Cage plays the lead, I’ll be happy. Lolz.

Please no, not Cage, he’ll only end up being angry and wearing a vest half way through, yet still giving that feeling of being miscast.
I’d vote for Gerard Butler – the accent may be a little off, but they have the same smirk.
Smirks are important, y’know.

Saraha was top-silly-bollocks and in a way, Uncharted is the same. Over-the-top action, a bit of a story and great entertainment.

“We’re not suggesting these two are lower rent than Kyle Ward”, does that mean I can then?

I really don’t see any point in getting all that excited, it’s going to be cack, I’m sure.
I’ll stick to just playing the games.

They should just let Amy Hennig and the other Dogs do the script; will probably turn out better that way…

The Uncharted games are so like a movie anyway, I’d rather just watch all the cutscenes back to back than what will inevitably be a shit movie!

That’s an interesting choice and one I agree with. He can play the buffoon is decent looking, has the average-joe physique and can actually hold down a serious scene or two as witnessed in ‘The Air I Breathe’.

I hope this turns out to be a good thing for the movie… also for anyone who was wondering, Nolan North sees Hugh Jackman as Drake. That would be alright, I mean he’s a pretty good actor and he would fit the part well I think.

I’d rather see Bruce Willis than Jackman… To me it appears that Hugh has the Wolverine syndrome, whilst Willis’ McClane character is less strong and stereotypical…
Funny though, I realise this probably is because I haven’t seen other Jackman movies than X-men, while I’ve seen various films featuring Willis (especially Tarantino’s)…
I only hope the makers of this movie can realise the great expectations everyone has with this milestone video game movie…

I dont know… I think movies should stay movies and games should stay games. If you try and make a game based on a movie it usually sucks, and I haven’t seen that any good movies that were based on a game. EXCEPT THIS ofcourse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWL6j0SvqV0
