I still play PS1 games on a regular basis.Metal gear solid is still a classic as are FF7 and 8.(6+9 not so much).GTA still has a certain charm.Heavenly sword was ok.Nothing special.Maybe if they were making it now they would have time to add a bit more depth.I suppose they were under pressure due to the lack of games.

Yeah I discovered Heavenly Sword early on in the Bargain pre-owned part of Grainger games. I picked it up for a mere £8 and it proved to be the best £8 I had spent since.

Very enjoyable game….. that was unfortunately never given the release cover it deserved.

Motion-capture is quite expensive I would imagine. Plus hiring Andy Sirkis (the best motion-capture actor in the business) isn’t going to be an option for everyone. Nice if you can afford it though.

You should definitely play Heavenly Sword if you haven’t already. You can probably get it for about £5 if you look in the right places.

I agree. I thought Uncharted 2 was great (it was superdoubleincrediblyextremelyawesome, to say the truth) the first time I played it, but then I started to see: that Drake gets his magazines from nowhere (in the first game he had magazines atatched to his holster), that there is a strange magazine respawn when you’re in cover on the left side of a door, holding an Assault Rifle/Sniper Rifle, and reloading then; and that the only language avaliable is English, in the UK version of the game (I’m from portugal and portuguese versions of the game can be played in lots of languages, but I bought the UK version because it’s 20€/25€ cheaper). Good old times when I was unable to notice the problems of Uncharted 2.

I understand this completely. After hearing so many people say how amazing FF XII was, I downloaded it off the PSN when it came out but couldn’t play it for longer than hour. I’m sure if I had been a gamer and played it when it came out, I would have been hooked.

But I just didn’t enjoy it at all when I played it on the PS3. I couldn’t understand the controls, the graphics were almost unwatchable (probably just cause I’ve been spoilt by modern graphics), what I saw of the story was a bit rubbish and I found the gameplay to be really slow and boring. I know a load of people are going to reply saying how wrong I am but I’m betting in 10-15 years, people will be saying the same about Killzone and Uncharted.

Aww, i take back my question then. No trophies – no buy. Wiith the exception of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Time Crisis 4, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, hmm… seems like there are enough exceptions indeed.

HS was an okay game, but I never really liked the ‘feeling of impact’ you got from hitting enemies, it just didn’t feel very ’solid’ to me if you get what I mean, most especially when using the chain weapon. I loved the Kai levels though.

Shame Sony canned the sequel. There real potential for improvement there.

Remixed/HD remakes of the classics are a good way to get the best of both worlds. If done well you get the great memories and all the things you loved but the bugs, glitches, dodgy graphic details etc are cleaned up.

Of course there are plenty of ways to screw up a remake, which is sadly all too common

Heavenly Sword was and still is fantastic. It takes the honour (along with Uncharted) as one of them games I refuse to trade in despite playing through it millions of times and in Uncharteds case, platinuming it

They should release some trophies for Heavenly Sword actually. And a sequel please
