Square Enix have today released their latest, incredible looking trailer for Final Fantasy XIII. The title is due for release on December 17th in Japan but unfortunately not till March for Europe and the US, although thanks to the power of the interwebz you can take a look at the gorgeousness now. In true Square Enix style it’s a little heavy on the pre-rendered stuff and light on the gamplay, but its still stunning all the same.

Oh heck, I cannot wait to play this game~ It looks so good and the characters/world setting look very interesting. March can’t get here quick enough!

I love final fantasy games, ever since the first one I had (FFVII on PSone) Been waiting a while to get my hands on this game, the graphics are astounding, as always

I hate final fantasy for one reason. Remember those 20p coins that had no date? I used three of them to buy FF7 when it came to psn only to find 2 days later they were worth at least 50 quid each. 2 days ago my brother was on amazon and found one of the coins selling for 3,250,000. . . that was a bit depressing especially when it means that final fantasy 7 has basically cost me 3,250,000.
I know a lot of people love that game but its not worth that much?

yeah basically i had three rare coins that i used to buy FF7 only to find they were selling for thousands of pounds on ebay and 2 days ago we found another one on ebay selling for over 3 million. so if i hadn’t bought FF7 i could have been very very rich by now

I thought that, then I actually watched it – and although I’m not interested in the slightest I thought it was pretty good, although there is combat just after the 3:30 mark, briefly.

What’s with all the pre-rendered hate? And besides, not all of it is CGI; in fact most of the cutscenes there are in-game (or Uncharted “in-game” at least). Because of the geek that I am:
00:13 – 01:07, 01:15 – 03:05 and 03:36 – 04:26 is all in-game, the rest is pre-rendered. As you can see, the majority of that trailer is being rendered in-game. Sure there isn’t a lot of actual gameplay footage (battles, travelling), but for a trailer for an RPG game, the amount of gameplay footage is perfectly fine IMO. I’d rather look at the cutscenes; leave the gameplay stuff to gaming sites.

ive got it preordered along with versus XIII, ive got a two week block off in march also so ill have a bit of spare time to play them. Ive decided to media blank all FFXIII videos untill release, so i havent watched the one above, but previous videos got me all impatient. Suprised that theres still been fack all news on the versus game.

wow just from that the story looks way better than XII, not that it’s at all difficult. Hopefully it should be up to standard with 7-10 (although I’d rather keep the old turn based battles but you can’t have it all)
