Afterburner Climax Coming To PS3 And Xbox 360?

Afterburner Climax, the rather bonkers arcade rehash of the classic not-very-sim aircraft blaster, looks like it’s coming to consoles, presumably the PS3 and Xbox 360 if ratings from the Australian Classification Database and the Korean equivalent, which specifically lists Sony as being behind the project.
As with previous arcade port Outrun Arcade, chances are Sony will be behind this more than Microsoft, but whoever gets the game I personally don’t care – the joys of multiformat console ownership mean that hopefully, in the not too distant future, I’ll be behind an F18 with a moment’s notice. And save myself lots of pounds in the process.
SEGA are yet to comment.

If they get it looking like this then that will be great. Lots of stuff happening on the PSN at the mo which is brill, long may it continue.

this looks awesome! must buy! loved outrun arcade so should love this… is ‘arcade’ the make or just that they are both arcade games? they have exactly the same style about them

This is exactly what I was talking about the other day in the ‘emulator’ story. A classic game updated and enhanced. Hope this is as good as my memory of the original

When I used to go to the arcades, many moons ago, Afterburner was one of my favourite games. Spent a small fortune shoving coins into that wee silver slot.
