It’s that time again. As another year begins to draw to a close, with Christmas quickly approaching – it’s not Santa-time until I have seen the Coke truck – and with that brings a time of reflection and thanks. Looking back over the year, the changes and advancements here at TSA Towers are truly remarkable. We’ve doubled in size with almost everything; staff, coverage, community, yet somehow the biscuit tin always seems to be empty, strange. Hopefully you’ll agree that the leaps and bounds we have made have been productive and overall beneficial to the site, us staff and you, the community.

However, this post is not about TSA, it’s about games. We all love games, that’s why we’re here, and the number of quality titles just seems to outstrip what the average consumer can afford and we’re becoming increasingly selective. So it’s time to separate the cream from the rest of the crop. We’re making a bit of a song and dance out of Game of the Year this year, although we’ll first need your nominations. Simply email your nominations to: davs[at]thesixthaxis[dot]com with an answer to each of the following categories:

  • Game of the Year
  • Best Downloadable Game
  • Best PS3 Game
  • Best 360 Game
  • Best PSP Game
  • Best Shooter
  • Best Fighting Game
  • Best Action Adventure Game
  • Best RPG
  • Best Multiplayer Game
  • Best Sports Game
  • Best Driving Game
  • Best Music Game
  • Best DLC
  • Most Anticipated Game of 2010

Make sure to put ‘TSA GotY’ in the title otherwise your nominations will get lost in my inbox somewhere. You have until 23:59 (GMT) Sunday 6th December to get your nominations in. As an added incentive, ten (random) lucky members will receive a boost of 150 TSA points for nominating. Once the deadline has passed, the four games with the most nominations for each category will then be voted by you all to become the TSA Game of the Year.

To try and avoid any confusion there a few things you may want to be aware of. Game of the Year can be either a retail release or downloadable; Best Downloadable Game is limited to full titles, therefore no expansions; Best DLC is limited to non-full titles, therefore expansions and additional content only.

Additionally, all the residents in the Towers will be nominating in our own special way to bring you something, well, special. With that said, it’s time to get nominating.
