Like the look of Dante’s Inferno? Well, very soon you will be able to get your hands on EA’s God of War rival, as a demo is about to be released.
The demo will be available on the PS3 on Thursday 10th December, while XBox 360 owners will have to wait a little longer (2 weeks) until Thursday 24th December. It should be quite rich with beast slaying goodness too, including the entire first level of the game.
The full game will be available on the 5th February, 2010. So there we are, an early Christmas present from EA, lovely.

It’s quite good. I played it at ComicCon (an earlier demo, most likely), and the gameplay is pretty much identical in style and polish. Unfortunately, the graphics are lacking in comparison, thanks to being a multiplat (although I did play the 360 version, so it could be different.) However the story and original ideas on display (or unoriginal, depending on how you look at it) are a big draw. I enjoyed it and will most likely pick this up, unless it suddenly veers off course leading up to production.

Awesome, I really need to try out the gameplay because this looks like it could be a GoW beater, by offering similar gameplay but with more varied elements.

I liked it, although ive never played any GOW games before. The combat was fluid and the gameplay seemed fun but the camera got a bit annoying.

Lest us not forget, the GOW3 demo is an early build, 6+ months of development have past since.

The fixed camera is a staple of the GoW series… this means it frees up the right stick for dodging – I much prefer GoW like that, to have a user controllable camera would mean to many compromises graphics wise, and surely then it would just become another 3rd person action gaame, and I think we’ve got quite enough of those already.

I liked the trailer for this, it looked like some family-friendly gruesome fun. Hopefully, the game is as good.

Should be good, i doubt it will be as good as GOW 3 though.

I hope there are lots of “This is nothing like the source material!” outbursts. Followed by “Books are gai” retorts. This would entertain me greatly.

You know I was thinking that they were stretching the idea a bit..
I think Penny Arcade summed it up well.

I have this on pre-order, I’ve been watching the trailers and dev-chats from the PSN and found what I saw to be very interesting I look forward to the demo to see if my interest has been directed correctly.

Oh, really looking forward to this!
Had my eye on this game for a while..
I’m suprised they’re releasing a demo this early though, perhaps to seal the deal? With so many games coming out in the early 2010 period, they need to win our hearts early!
I have high hopes for this, I hope it excells them!

Maybe the demo’s out earlier on the PS3 because of GOW3.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to play it as not only does my missus think I won’t be allowed in heaven but thinks I’d getting rejected from hell too! I guess that leaves me in limbo.

Looking forward to this demo. I cant see it in ANY way being a GOW beater but I can see it as something to pass the time until the real deal comes out in March.
Ive been looking at the dev videos on psn for weeks now it does look cool, very dark and disgusting. The devs have even said they love the GOW series and see it as inspiration for making an entertaining game for adults, hear that kids for Adults just like MW2, 18s and over!

I’m glad they’re releasing a demo then I can compare it to the rather excellent GOW collection.
