Rumour: Killzone 3, Infamous 2, Resistance 3 To Be Announced At E3 [33]

The chap that runs SuperAnnuation knows a thing or two about the web and how to get the most out of it, providing the source of many of this generation’s ‘leaks’ in one form or another even if certain sites don’t like to give the guy any credit.  His latest post appears to give more weight to rumours that Killzone 3 is being worked on over at Guerrilla, by virtue of a LinkedIn profile of an employee of a certain Guildford based company who’s worked on production and localisation management.

The profile at LinkedIn looks like it has been edited since the SuperAnnuation post went up, so it could well have been a typo, but it did mention both Killzone 2 and 3 as far as we can tell.

  1. Even if they aren’t working on it yet, I’m expecting Killzone 3 around the middle of 2011, maybe a bit sooner, considering they have all the engine ready and stuff..
Loved KZ2, so would definately get this.

    • So long as they put in a decent story Killzone 3 could be a brilliant game

  2. My finger’s crossed for the end of 2010, but actually hope they take time enough to hit end of 2011.
The engine’s already in place, and they’d already started work on adding extra stuff to it straight after KZ2’s release, though since it was already using the SPE’s on the Cell pretty well, there’s not too much they can really add to it. The SP is solid and just needs a continuation of sorts for the story, so basically “just” a levels pack. The MP too is great, and “just” needs new levels and for them to figure out a way of doing vehicles, so that the Assault class is finally justified…

So, all I’d really want to see is a straight up sequel. No fancy stuff, a solid continuation and evolution of the previous effort will do it for me. But having said that, if they can surprise me with something even better, I’ll love them a lot more.

  3. Killzone 3 is a no-brainer – it’s just a matter of when.

    • 2010, 2011, 2012…. who knows!

  4. Hallelujah for LinkedIn!

  5. Killzone 2 was great. I hope Killzone 3 will be even better.

  6. I hope they fix the control issue and make it more responsive, with the same theme and look, it’ll be great.

    • It was responsive, you just didn’t like the weight of the guns.
notice how aiming was faster with a pistol than with an AR? and that the AR was faster than the rocket launcher?
      yeah, weight.

and i loved the feel of it, was great.

      • Seconded, not every game has to play like MW2

  7. Hated KZ2 which was a shame as i missed out on a large part of the TSA community. Hopefully, KZ3 will be more to my liking and will get the same treatment…

  8. just so long as you get to shoot rico i’ll be happy. IN fact forget the hellghast just let me shoot rico over and over again . . . .

  9. I think we all no killzone 3 will be the bizz.

  10. Please give us more leaks mate, we need to know the truth! (about video games)

  11. I hope they really go to town with al the weapons and have about 40, and loads of maps online at least! KZ2 just lacks that tiny little bit of variety in the weapons, and lots of maps would be nice!

    • *all

  12. This reminds me; I still need to bother finishing the depressing and dark KZ2 campaign mode that is a major disappointment in comparison to the brilliant online.

  13. Can’t wait! :)

  14. Can’t see this out till 2011. I hope the gameplay is faster.

    • I hope not! What I love about killzone is that its not as quick or as frantic as MW2 so is a much slower, more tactical game.

  15. Killzone 2 is a brilliantly paced game imho, even in mp although it does get a llittle hectic sometimes ;)
Seriously looking forward to the 3rd instalment
