This is the European boxart for Heavy Rain – which has just been revealed via Amazon. Notice the “Only On PlayStation” and SCE logos? Yeah, this one’s exclusive.

I like.  It’s evocative, smart and sophisticated.  I’m sure the back will be full of nudity and nazi symbols (they’ve got to sell it somehow) but I’m impressed that the final boxart has managed to get through the SCEE amplifier intact.

  1. Like the origami, dislike the rain effect. Just doesn’t look good if you ask me.

But it’s a crying shame the only on playstation-thing is coming to the PAL region as well. Looks terrible on any boxart.

  2. OMG.

    WOW.

  3. I hate the new “PS3″ band. I just picked up the GOW Collection and I couldnt put it in with the rest of my games because it throws off the whole aesthetic. Its even worse then the GH versions, because the band is sized differently. I also dislike that it now cuts into the front graphic, the old vertical “Playstation 3″ band looked better and allowed for taller graphics on the cover.

  4. I like it!
It’s much darker and scarier than I thought it would be though.
I hope SCEE are getting ready to market this one!

  5. Cant wait for this! :)

  6. I think the EU box-art looks better than the US…

  7. Can’t wait for this game… Great box-art! Very clean, and yet very tempting… With the blood stain on the origami creature.

  8. this is one game I can’t wait to get my hands on.

  9. I like it a lot! Don’t like the US version tho lol. Also really like the what Sony have done with the new design should have done that from the start.

  10. What matters to me the most is the disc itself :) I cannot wait to try this game out, next year here I come.

  11. The artwork will turn off the exact demographic who won’t enjoy this game anyway so it’s a job well done. Hopefully it’ll garner critical acclaim and sell well enough to continue as a franchise. Regarding the whole cover, it’s nicely laid out. PS3 logos not too intrusive and palette choice for the Heavy Rain artwork itself is splendid.
