We are now in Christmas territory – it’s official, i’ve seen ‘the truck’ several times now – and it’s time to see if your shopping has made an impact on the charts.

UK PS3 Chart: Week ending 5th December:

The top 5 on the PlayStation chart remain unchanged with Modern Warfare 2 still taking the number one slot. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it Superman? No! It’s Batman. That’s right, Batman: Arkham Asylum has climbed 7 places to take 6th place on the chart. It would also appear that some kids will be getting the latest LEGO Indiana Jones, too; it has slipped back in at number 10.

UK 360 Chart: Week ending 5th December:

The top 5 on the Xbox chart also stays the same this week. Interesting to note that Halo 3: ODST has slipped from the top 10 for the first time since it’s release and Borderlands makes a come back, jumping 5 places to number 8. Other than Borderlands, nothing else new or exciting happening on 360.

  1. I think I remember reading that ODST has slipped out of the top 10 played games on XBL as well.

  2. Isn’t Batman published by Eidos?

    • Sssh!

      • .. which is obviously what the chart says and it certainly wasnt corrected. No sirree!

      • or was it…..

  3. It’s good to see both Batman and UC2 still doing so well on PS3.

    • Dusted Batman off the other day, its a great game.

Can’t get 100%, cos I suck at the challenges! :-( So I’m playing the main story again

But Uncharted is still top of the pile. No dust on that one!

  4. I’m sure MW2 are pushing a lot of sales to unknowing parents, because it’s number one at the top-10 list in stores.

    It’s a TRAP!

  5. “I’ve seen ‘the truck’ several times now” – i have not :( , its not Christmas for me yet!

    • i saw it for the first time yesterday :D it’s christmas for me :)

      • It’s on a billboard I walk past on the way to and from work every day! It’s super Christmassy!

    • i’ve seen “the truck” on one of those roller ad things where they have three that go up and down, the coke one is in the middle so it gets seen more.

    • I haven’t seen it either.

  6. Gotta love the similarity
    Top 3: Identical
    4th: Racing game
5th: Exclusive to each console (ignoring PC here) that involves shooting things (alright bit of a tedious connection but yeah)
    7th: WWE 2010
Not a great deal of difference between the two in that sense. Nice to see at least one console owners aren’t still being daft enough to buy DJ Hero. 360 owners will come round soon enough to realise ‘wait, its crap’.

    • Nothing we can do about it (as individuals). They cater to the masses. Kinda like ICO and SOTC being the gaming equivalent of art-house cinema. Critical acclaim, universally loved within circles but ultimately not a cash-cow. People obviously like winding down with some mindless action (or watching generic pap on the big-screen) or we wouldn’t buy the stuff.

  7. Good to see Uncharted still up there.

    • I agree. Glad to see it still selling well, I’d hate for it to suddenly drop off the radar.

  8. I’m beginning to worry that Modern Warfare will be up the top all the way into the new year…

  9. The Top 3 is very unsurprising. Nothing unexpected at all in fact.

  10. Well no big surprises there…MW2 is worthy of it’s number one spot…I reckon it’s there til new year

  11. nice to see batman back in the top 10 great game.
