The Spike TV Video Game Awards are just 3 days away, and although we’re looking forward to the odd new unveil from a few publishers, it’s the presence of Epic’s Cliffy B that’s got people wondering what’s in store. “You ready for the big show on Saturday night?” asked host Geoff Keighley to Cliffy B on Twitter earlier. “Can’t wait to see you!”
Will he be announcing something special? Will it be Gears of War 3, Shadow Complex 2 or something else? Or is Cliffy just meeting Geoff for a quiet cup of tea in a cafe and talking about footy?

Very interesting – I thought Gears3 was going to be the launch title for the next Unreal Engine (UE4?), so although I couldn’t give 2 hoots for Gears as a game I’m very interested in how it looks and compares to the CryEngine3.

UE4 is targeted for next gen consoles last I read, won’t see it on 360 or PS3. Target release is 2012.

There had better not be new consoles come 2012. Too early.

Coming to PC first mate :) I think that’s what the 2012 aim is for.

I’ve heard somewhere that GoW3 won’t use the full UE4… But I could be wrong, as usual…

Shadow Complex 2 would rock, loved that title, even though it was a metroid rip off :P

I absolutely loved Gears 1 on co-op. Played Gears 2 on my own, found it insanely dull. I couldn’t care less about the engine they use, they just need to make a storyline that doesn’t completely replicate the previous game.

My experience of the two was the same. First one was great, second was an epic disappointment. Running around inside a worm was the low point.

I loved Gears 1 in both single and multiplayer (apart from the small spell where you stuck to walls till the update)…Gears 2 was better on the single player side but multiplayer was a let down although horde was a blast with friends but i didn’t play horde after reaching level 50. Gears 3? i’m simply not bothered at all and don’t get me started on the Halo games, the first one was great and the rest sucked a bit. IMO the only exclusive game on 360 that interests me is Fable3 which could be very good. For me, PS3 has the best exclusive games : God of war III, Modnation racers, GT5 and The last gaurdian to name a few, all look as though they could sell loads of PS3 consoles.

a new gears game might be interesting, but i’m more interested in this star wars legends game i’ve read a rumour about.

I loved gears 1 & 2 and it’s the only reason i bought my 360 elite. Because quantum theory is coming to the 360 i would love to see a twist and see gears 3 on ps3 also. I know it’s fantasy talk but fingers crossed.
