So after the recent King of Killzone competition, won in tremendous style by Spooferbarnabas, our fantastic community decided it was time for a racing tournament. I know we have a lot of people on here who love a good racing game and now it’s time to step up – if any of you think you have it what it takes to be the next Stig, listen closely.
The game chosen is Codemasters’ GRID and the format is PS3. The tournament will take place on Monday the 21st December at 20:00GMT and TSA’s own Manorhowze will be setting up a chat room at 19:45GMT to get everyone organised. The lobby will be password protected and the password will be revealed in the chat room so dont be late.
If you’re interested, sign up using our TSA Meets feature, then head on over to the TSA Meets: GRID thread in the forums and declare your interest. There is a maximum lobby size of 12 players, and we expect places to fill up fast. If the recent TSA Meets’ focus on first person shooters has put you off, this is your chance to get involved with something new.
The tournament will consist of 5 Touring Car races at the following tracks in this order.
Each race will consist of 3 laps with the exception of Spa which will be 5 laps. There will be no driver assists, catch up is off, manual or automatic transmission is allowed amd damage is on. It doesn’t appear to be possible to setup a competition on GRID online so it will be 5 single races but I will keep a score based on the 10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1 system of points.
The overall winner of the 5 races on points will be the Champion. In the unlikely event of a tie it will be down to most wins.
Now this is a competition and we expect hard fought races but please treat the other racers with respect and no deliberate ramming or taking out. With the assists being off, accidental collisions are going to happen as this is racing after all but there is to be no deliberate foul play please.
There is also the matter of a prize and that will be in the form of those lovely TSA points.
So get practicing, I know I will be as I am seriously rusty on GRID. Start your engines and may the best driver win.
