It’s time. You have voted in numbers large enough to cause my inbox to whinge and whine, with the final four for each category being decided. Simply click the link for each category and vote in our lovely poll. It took me an awfully long time to set this all up so if you don’t vote, I will be extremely hurt and possibly cry a little. Anyway, without further ado, our finalists:
So there you have it. An incredible array of games to choose amongst, with several titles being finalists in as many as four categories, choosing TheSixthAxis’ games of the year is really heating up. You have until; 23:59 (GMT) Sunday 13th December to cast your vote with the results being published the following week. Expect some more Game of the Year treats coming to TheSixthAxis in the near future but for now go and get voting.

I’ve just voted for all of them except “best Music game” which should clearly be “Beaterator” as all the games listed are those stupid rhythm games rather than actual /music/ games. Oh, and PSP game because I sold mine like a fool just before the line-up got interesting. Bah.
Great work from Davs getting this mammoth task all organised. Get voting people or we’ll bring back jedward!

Done. Great polls and game choice and yes Manorhowze was right about the initials mistake in UFC as it was written by URC, but I’m sure they know what game that was meant to be
Overall great polling station. (I fear that I or we know which of the 2 games could be the King of Kings or whatever it’s called lol.)

That’s my democratic duty fulfilled for the year! It will be interesting to see the results, I’m especially interested to see if an Xbox exclusive title (Forza 3) has the legs to win the driving category on a historically PS3-only site.
Thanks for all the hard works Davs, it’s a shame you couldn’t find a category to squeeze Ratchet and Clank in to!

the creed is better than killzone. I want to know how borderlands got into the polls, it’s the worst game I’ve played in a long time and I played bionic commando.

There is a healthy number of people playing Killzone 2, some 10 months(ish) since it was released, there’s barely anybody playing Assassin’s Creed 2 10 days after it was released…. that will tell you all you need to know about which game people /should/ have voted on to the short-list, which is why I said ‘if the results were gathered a week later’ then maybe everyone would have forgotten about Ezio’s yawn

Just personal opinion, whatever you enjoy, but I bought killzone 2 again recently because of the hardcore following it has on this site and remembered why I got rid of it a week after first completing it.
@Vandix, borderlands made me feel like I’d gone back generation, it has more loading screens than fable and doesn’t look much better. Also, the gameplay is akin to the origin unreal tournament in feel. If you enjoy it fair enough but it is a dreadful game.

my biggest problem is if i vote for something as game of the year , am i morally obliged to vote for it in the sub catagorys too?

That’s what I was thinking. If you, for example, voted for UC2 as game of the year, logically you would also have to vote for it as Action Adventure game. But, hypothetically, you might think inFamous deserved a vote somewhere. Decisions, decisions.
