EA have let us know, via the magic of blinged out carrier pigeons, that their co-op shooter Army Of Two: The 40th Day will play host to a free demo this Thursday, on what we’re calling Demo Day. The demo will include most of the first level in the game, where the two-man tough guy combo of Salem and Rios find themselves “trapped in Shanghai” as it falls under attack.
We’re told that players will experience the “focused co-operative action that has made THE 40TH DAY one of next year’s most anticipated games”. Most anticipated? Hmm. Anyway, in addition a demo for the PSP will also be available for free on the PlayStation Network in North America on January 7th and in Europe on January 14th, when the full game is released.

Thats pretty cool, I quite liked the first game, even tho it felt a little shallow..

The first game was the most dreadful disc I’d ever put into my ps3. Me and my bro both bought it so we had a cooperative game to play together. We never managed a single game because it wouldn’t let us connect to each other, despite both having NAT 1 or 2 and both having our ps3 in a DMZ. Total rubbish. I wont be getting this as I just don’t see that they will have addressed this issue. Army of Two became Army of None.

They said ‘one of’, which is a get-out clause because it could be ‘one of’ the top 10 or 100 etc.

I can help but think that it should be ‘Army of Two: 40th Day’ without the ‘the’… If you look at trailers and artwork and such… There’s is no ‘the’ anywhere…

The last Army of Two was good fun, me and the other half clocked it in co-op split screen. Hopefully this will be as much fun to play split screen, so far for us nothing has beat the Gears of War split screen fun but the fingers are crossed.
Most anticipated game…to the point where I had no idea it was out next month and oh yeh its not even on the list of anticipated games for next year, theres just too many.

Should be interesting, is the co-op online or local like the first one?

The original was a game i really enjoyed in local co-op despite it getting relatively poor reviews so im very pleased to hear about a demo for the new title.

I enjoyed the first game, particularly in split screen co-op. I’m looking forward to the sequel, so I’ll definitely give the demo a try.
