There was no advent yesterday. The 14th is not a day I ever recognise in any month. My birthday is on a 13th and so I choose to ignore the 14ths as it is then that I realise that my birthday is over. It’s like boxing day..

But we’ve made up for it today. We’ve had giveaways, more giveaways and then even more giveaways over the last week. I also, finally learned how to spell calender calendar properly! Though none of the competitions mean anything without any winners, so without further ado, here are those who will be receiving a bit of our Christmas spirit.

For the crossword, everyone who entered got as least some answers right, and a few even got them all, so it’s time for a bit of self-marking. My teachers used to tell us that self marking was good for our education. It’s only just now that I realise they were just a bit lazy. Don’t worry though, I’ll tally up the number of points you’ll all get and you’ll receive them within the week. The answers in order were: Sackboy, Kratos, Pokemon, Mario Kart, Cancer, Heavy Rain, Nathan, Gears of War, Haircuts, and Nofi.

Then there was the article on easter eggs, which had a 10 point giveaway for anyone who could find it. But only one person found it. So lucky you Ryosuke. For being so keen eyed, I’m going to give you 50 points. I’m also not going to tell you where the points were hidden. I’m interested to see if anyone else can find where they were.

Tuffcub set the worlds hardest wordsearch and not only do you find all the games listed, but six more that occured from a few random letters. Next time the competition will be a crossword with no clues that you have to complete blindfolded whilst underwater listening to a Lady Gaga album on continuous loop.

A number of you reached (and in some cases, exceeded) the target total of games so using the TSA supercomputer a winner was selected and it is: Manorhowze. Congratulations, a load of tat will be winging it’s way to you this week. For those of you still searching, here are the games you were looking for:

AFRIKA, ASSASSINS CREED, BAND HERO, BATMAN ARKHAM ASYLUM, BAYONETTA, BIOSHOCK, BLUR, BOLT, BRINK, BUZZ, CRYSIS, DARK VOID, DEADSPACE, DJ HERO, DRIVER, EYEPET, FARCRY, FEAR, FIFA TEN, FLOCK, FLOW, FLOWER, FORZA THREE, FUEL, GRAND THEFT AUTO FOUR, HALO, HAWX, HAZE, HEAVY RAIN, HITMAN, I AM ALIVE, KILLZONE 2, LAIR, LIPS, MAG, MINI NI(N)JAS, MOTO GP, PAIN, PES, PURE, QUAKE, SHATTER, SKATE, SMASH CARS, TEKKEN, TETRIS, THE CLUB, THE LAST GUY, TRINE, TUROK, UP, WARHAWK, WET, WIPEOUT, X BLADES, ZUMA

After going through the entries that you entered, Davs is ready to announced the winners of the greetings card competition. The two people to win the TSA ornaments, courtesy of Ponoko, are…

berto54 – Many Happy Returns, from all of us at Virtua Tennis 09

BrendanCalls - To Raiden, Happy New Gear, From Snake

Congratulations guys. He’s emailed you requesting your address so we can get these shipped to you as soon as possible and the three runners up, who each win themselves 100 TSA points are.

  •  Person678 – To Coach, Merry Christmas, Love Bill. P.S. I want my damn job back.
  • iNsAnE_gAmInG – Have a HappySad Christmas! LoveHate Sackboy. xxxxx
  • debasemasonsgrog – And the angel said unto them, Fear not, my child. There shall be no more borders – give up your land and behold my glorious Halo. Merry Christmas.

Having asked for your suggestions for summer sports that would be better played in winter we received a number of suggestions for sports that are normally played with white balls and how they would become realtime spot-the-ball competitions in addition to their existing sporting challenge.

The winner though, with his suggestion of beach volleyball, is bunimomike.  Needless to say the reason he would like to see beach volleyball played is winter is because of the obvious physiological reaction of the bikini-clad sportswomen’s upper bodies to winter’s cold air.

Special mention to debasemasonsgrog for the suggestion that parkour could be made much more interesting as a spectator sport if it was to take place across an snow and ice-covered urban environment.  Ouch!  I will have a quiet word with the powers-that-be and see if we can get you a few TSA points for that one.  Thank you to everyone who entered.

Finally it’s time to announce the results of the Famitsu giveaway. For those of you who claimed it would be easy and hit up google translate, you were wrong. I do not like to ride the sled and snow. When it snows, I like to ride a sled and the only person who told me exactly that was billsmugs, so great job to you, bilinguist.

For those of you who didn’t win, here’s a fun fact. You’re always a winner with a fun fact! A pregnant goldfish is called a twit!
