March isn’t that far away and it’s one hell of a line up for Spring 2010. One of the games due is Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The newest video from the guys at DICE comes in the form of a developer diary presented by their senior producer, Patrick Bach.

The video showcases the game’s Squad Deathmatch mode whereby you and three friends can take on three other groups of four friends in an all-out battle to the death…or 50 deaths, to be precise.

  1. That nade he dropped at the end probably killed his whole team.

  2. That looks like a really good game-mode, although headsets are a must. It would be good with friends, but playing online with randomers would get annoying if they didnt want to work together.
    Cant wait for this!

    • Agreed, playing with randomers wouldn’t be much fun, but this mode looks ripe for some TSA Meets action!!! ;)

  3. Looking good. Now I can’t decide between this and heavy rain.

    • Iv been playing the Beta…its really good. i enjoy the small taste of what im playing more than MW2 to be honest. Heavy Rain is another kind of animal…So far id say get both! lol. o, and Modnation Racers, its really fun! 3 games i am getting in the new year already.lol

  4. I have never enjoyed vehicles in a multiplayer game, it just never seems to work, I will see what the demo has to offer but I stil reckon I will avoid the first day sales and wait until I hear what its like from reviews and the forums

    • You’re spot on.

In the only Battlefield game I’ve played (1943) they don’t work, what tends to happen is that all the jeeps and tanks disappear from the bases, and don’t respawn there… meaning when you respawn you have to walk for 10mins all the way across a map.

Warhawk gets it right though, the vehicles are perfectly balanced against each other, and when they aren’t touched for 2mins, they respawn at their original points

      • In the beta they spawn in the areas you have under control, so i think its just the starting base as you destroy the rest of the ‘command areas’. They control well, and give you a nice advantage/disadvantage balance

      • I found when respawning no vehicles and having to run all the way across the bridge, leaving you open to snipers… I got sniped(?) that often I gave up playing what was an excellent game… much more gritty than MW2, but much more enjoyable than Op Flashpoint. Great game, but I have real problem with that.

  5. The beta for this is brilliant. I can’t wait for the full game. And on the subject of vehicles, in the beta, they spawn in the base you have under control. They work really well and aren’t over-powered. Only problems with them is that they are too hard to kill with rockets and they can ’snipe’ the buildings with the crates in from miles away, and bring it down with minimal effort. But it’s a beta, so all this could be fixed.

  6. this game gets better every time I

    • -I see it. sorry hit wrong key.

  7. One word: Niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…..

  8. BF:BC2 is going to be one of the epic games of 2010

  9. Looks pretty good. I’m looking forward to this; after feeling disappointed with MW2 I’m hoping this provides a more adequate all-round package.

  10. Now this is great news…ive been in the beta for eons (it really is fucking ace) scuse ones french ;)
And totally looking forward to the full retail release…i can smell fun coming :)

  11. Looks very up-to-date and they’ve improved graphically from what I made out. I liked the first so will probably pick it up for my birthday as it is also in March :D

  12. loved the beta, and this mode looks fantastic. May buy this even though it blatantly won’t have local multiplayer
