TSA’s community is a wonderful place to be - when the staff aren’t setting up events it’s our loyal readers that do instead, sometimes using our unique TSA Meets system, and sometimes getting in touch with us to promote a major competition that’s happening in the forums. Back on the 11th we got an email from TSA member Manorhowze who was setting up a GRID Meet, so we got behind it and made it into a proper TSA competition.
Well, that competition was last night, and Manorhowze has been in touch again. The event was packed (using up all ten slots) and with the distinctive aroma of burnt rubber and petroleum still hanging in the air we can now reveal the results of the GRID competition. Ten drivers took part but only one could win. There were incidents and battles throughout the field and it was a hard fought contest, which fittingly went down to the wire.
Race 1: Manorhowze takes victory and gets 10 points, closely followed by cam the man with 8 points and Baxteros with 6 points.
1.Manorhowze – 10 points
2.cam the man – 8 points
3.Baxteros – 6 points
Race 2: cam the man takes victory to tie for the lead with Manorhowze at 18 points with Baxteros and jacklum also tied for 3rd on 10 points each.
1.Manorhowze – 18 points
1.cam the man – 18 points
3.Baxteros – 10 points
3.jacklum – 10 points
Race 3: cam the man takes victory for the second race in a row to take him into the lead outright with 28 points, right behind on 26 points is Manorhowze and jacklum has also taken 3rd outright with 16 points.
1.cam the man – 28 points
2.Manorhowze – 26 points
3.jacklum – 16 points
Race 4: Manorhowze takes victory to take back the lead with 36 points, cam the man fails to score and is still on 28 points, Baxteros moves back into 3rd place on 22 points.
1.Manorhowze – 36 points
2.cam the man – 28 points
3.Baxteros – 22 points
Race 5: cam the man takes his third victory of the evening to take him to 38 points and the championship, Manorhowze fails to score and remains on 36 points, Baxteros earns four points to secure 3rd place and finishes on 26 points.
1.cam the man – 38 points
2.Manorhowze – 36 points
3.Baxteros – 26 points
Well done to all who took part and congratulations to cam the man for a well deserved win. Thanks also to Baxteros for keeping score and cam the man for the photos. First place wins 250 TSA Points, second place 100, and third place 50. I’d also like to extend my gratitude to Manorhowze for stepping up and organising the event. If anyone else wants to get the TSA Community involved on the site, please do get in touch.
Now, when’s Gran Turismo 5 out?

Have to say that this was a great TSA Meet, well organised and ran smooth as clockwork. It was awesome fun as well and that is the main thing. A few tiny gripes at the end of unfair play but I felt that the Meet was carried out in the right spirit, there was carnage but was to be expected at times. Rather glad that that screen shot has made it in to the report as that was my best race
I stuck around for a few races after too and that was equal fun, although once I was left with the top 3 racers I was left behind quite quickly, they are great drivers.
Thanks again to Manrhowze for excellent organisation and to cam the man and Baxteros for their supporting roles. Look forward to future Meets.

Overall it was a very enjoyable nights racing. There were a few minor hiccups, such as me forgetting to change the last race to 5 laps but we worked through it and had a fun evenings racing.
Given that the driver assists were turned off and damage was on, I think that everyone behaved pretty well, there were incidents but thats to be expected in racing (including a few hideous first corner pile-ups). The post competition Demolition Derbies were a great laugh as well.
Thanks to all who showed up and a mention for tom_lord, who should have taken part but was unable too due to PS3 problems. He would definitely have been a contender for the title judging by some of his fastest lap times in GRID.
Well done cam you deserved it mate, we had a few good battles but you were the faster man on the night, bring it on for next time.

Cheers guys! Too bad my car crashed several times lol… And someone did some serious (but unintended?) wing tipping, that wrecked it
It was great fun altogether, will defo join next time!
Oh and btw, in the last demolition derby I finished 2nd, so I guess we could say that the posted screenshot is not representative

Cheers Manor.
Although if you had remembered to change your car for the last race it probably would have been a different result as you only needed 3 points to win. Looking forward to the next comp.

Cheers for all the congrats.
It was a fun night of racing. The touring cars races during the competition were, for the most part, pretty close and clean (there’s always a bit of knocking etc. in racing). There were a few more spins and crashes during the races after the comp as most hadn’t raced the cars and tracks for ages but it was still fun.
Thanks must go to Manor for organising a very good tournament. And to Bax for doing a great job keeping the scores and updating us after every race. Well done both.

Oh and a comment on the game choice, I really think GRID is a great game and does offer much fun and good gameplay! The graphics are very decent too and car handling is just fine (better than the jumpy GT5 Demo or NFS Shift). I played the demo for months and bought the full game two weeks ago: good buy!

It’s just a pity Grid doesn’t let you set up multiple race multiplayer.
