Or multiplayer for that matter.

With our awesome competition in full swing, it’s time to go Darksiders crazy in lieu of the game’s imminent release this Friday. Initial reviews have been very positive, and we’re expecting big things from the apocalyptic actioner. What we can now no longer expect, however, is DLC for the game. Speaking in an interview with Eurogamer, Vigil’s Joe Madureira has dashed any hope of more Horsemen content, with news that Darksiders downloadable content was “never part of the plan.”

The interview also goes into why multiplayer was also excluded from the game:

We realised early on that we wouldn’t be able to pull off the scope of game we wanted to and have it be multiplayer. We were a new team building new tech and a new IP. We had our work cut out for us. Vigil has a very strong all-or-nothing mentality, and if we’re not confident we can pull it off, we’re not doing it. So we focused on making the most kick-ass single-player game possible.

Of course, not every game needs multiplayer in our opinion, despite what all the cool kids are doing these days.
