Rumour: Dead Or Alive 5 Heading To PS3 [16]

I quite like the Dead or Alive series of fighting games, especially the second and fourth, so it’s interesting to read that the Official PlayStation Magazine (US) is carrying a rumour that the fifth in the series is still heading to the PS3, despite the games recently favouring the Xbox platform.  Of course, with Tomonobu Itagaki out of the picture Team Ninja are pretty much free to do whatever they want as can be seen with the recent Sigma port of Ninja Gaiden 2 to the PS3.

I’d prefer them to work on the Xtreme Volleyball titles though – apart from the PSP one of course – because they were pretty fun.

  1. Played DOA4 for the 360 when it first came out and I loved it…the only problem was playing online with it the people were HARDCORE and I could barely win a fight…(maybe im just rubbish at it right enough but still)

  2. I loved Dead or Alive 2 (that was the PS2 one, right?). It’s still the only fighting game I can play and not get bored of.

  3. Hate DOA. My bro played it to death on ps2. all i could hear was jan lee carrying on. hate DOA.

  4. Dead Or Alive is awesome. I remember playing it on the PS2 and it was one of my favorite fighting games, my favorite was tekken :) .

  5. the only thing i ever found interesting in these games, was the option to have breast wobble on or off. other than that its always been tekken alll the way for me!

  6. What I love most about DOA is that there is a Drunken Boxing master to play with….so much fun.

  7. This has got to be true! Please Team Ninja! I was literally obsessed with DOA2, would buy DOA5 for sure!

  8. DOA5 for the PS3? Will we finally get a decent 3D brawler? Let’s hope it’s true.

  9. hopefully without itagaki it won’t just be about women with huge breasts and it won’t have those god awful cheap end bosses, how many bloody cheap tricks did that guy need to use? if it wasn’t dodgy camera angles or full screen effects that made it impossible to see what’s going on it was a boss that just outright cheated.
and sort out the bloody ai so it offers a challenge without being cheap and knowing every move you’re making, the doa games were notorious for their ai.
i played doa4 online and when it got laggy it became a slideshow of a game instead of a game.
but one on one local or on the rare occasion you got a lag free online game it was bloody fantastic.
the best version of doa i’ve ever played was doa 2 ultimate on xbox, and it had loads of outfits to unlock, even if many of the women’s ones were bikinis.
recapture what made doa2 great without all the crap they added from 3 onwards and it could be a great game.
if they do what i said i’d choose this over tekken or street fighter any day.
