Last month’s GRiD competition went well with cam the man taking a hard fought and deserved victory. Now it’s time to see if he can make it two months running or if someone else can take his crown.  Now, I say crown but there’s been a problem.  See, we thought a crown would be good as a prize given that it’s a driving competition and the winner could swap their crash helmet for the crown.  And it worked quite well in the aesthetics department, but in the safety department it’s been found to be lacking.  cam the man was last seen walking round with a sparkling, gem-encrusted head after a particularly nasty crash he endured while wearing his crown.  Bit embarrassing, in all honesty, although when I saw him I offered my sympathies and sneakily rearranged the gems so they said “TSA Rocks”, which was hilarious.  So, new month, new GRiD competition.

As before the game will be Codemasters’ GRID and the format PS3. The tournament will take place on Sunday the 24th of January at 20:00 GMT. A chat room will be open at 19:45 GMT to get everyone organised. The lobby will be password protected and the password will be revealed in the chat room so don’t be late.

The tournament will consist of 5 Touring Car races at the following tracks in this order.

Istanbul Park: Intermediate Circuit

Jarama: Grand Prix Circuit

Milan: Castello Circuit

Nurburgring: Grand Prix Circuit

Spa Francorchamps: Sportscar Circuit

Each race will consist of 5 laps so there will be more oppurtunity to catch up if there is an incident at the first corner. There will be no driver assists, catch up is off, manual or automatic transmission is allowed amd damage is on. The overall winner of the 5 races on points will be the Champion. In the event of a tie it will be down to most wins. The points are to be awarded as follows (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc) 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

Collisions are expected to happen with 12 cars all gunning for the same piece of tarmac, but there is to be no deliberate foul play please.

As we are doing away with the crown this time, the prize will consist solely of TSA Points.

1st Place overall: 250 Points

2nd Place overall: 100 Points

3rd Place overall: 50 Points

If you’re interested, sign up using our TSA Meets feature, then head on over to the TSA Meets: GRID thread in the forums and declare your interest. There is a maximum lobby size of 12 players, and places are expected to fill up fast.

See you on the grid!

  1. I don’t think I have time to do these sort of things, but it would be interesting to hear the lap times afterwards! So I can see how bad I could’ve been! haha

  2. 5 laps could mean more opporunity to catch up or could equally mean more more opportunity to mess up! I’m still going to give it a go anyway.

  3. Will defo do this again, the last one was so funny :D

  4. i will give it a try first, driving games not my cup of tea

  5. Thanks Michael.

I better get some more practice in, havent played GRID since the last one.
Hopefully cam will be wearing his crown this time and I can sneak past him.

    • I’ve haven’t played Grid since then either.
Sorry Manor but I won’t be wearing the crown for the meet. It no longer fits because of all the damage caused during the crash.
It was rather painful getting it surgically removed afterwards.

  6. Yayy :) I will defo join! Otherwise your rear view mirrors would be empty so someone has to fill that up, right? No, kidding, this time I’ll just beat you :D

  7. I will be trying my best to make it ‘two months running’ but I think it will be more difficult this time.
Michael – I thought we were going to keep quiet about the embarrassment caused by the crown after the crash.

  8. I’m in again. Might practice a bit with the BMW for this one…
