Ubisoft have today confirmed the next instalment in the Assassin Creed series will include online multiplayer for the first time. The game, currently entitled Assassins Creed Episodes will be released fiscal year 2011 and is a continuation of Ezio’s story.
“The 2010-11 fiscal year will see a greater number of franchise releases than fiscal year 2009-10, including Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, a new game in the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series, Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands, Driver, Raving Rabbids 4 and a new episode of Assassin’s Creed, which will be the first in the series to have an online multiplayer mode”
This statement also confirms Splinter Cell Conviction, which is looking very promising, has been delayed until April and new instalments in the Driver and Ghost recon series.

What we need from Ubisoft is another Rainbow Six game!

Far Cry 3
I actually liked the second a lot, now I am fond of sandbox games, so some of it flaws didn’t bother me to much.
One thing did bother me about FC2 though, was some weird bugs, among them some trophy bugs >_>

Yes! I’m really hoping they announce a new Rainbow 6! Loved RSV2!

Agreed!
RSV2 owns MW2 in my view, it is my favourite game. However my mates all moved over to COD after a while and I got fed up of playing online with only randomers.
My fav shooter on PS3 though, although it is glitchy and hard to meet up with friends on due to the lack of a party system.
RSV3 with trophies and a party mode… PLEASE!

Assassins creed online? I wonder what that’ll be like. When the word online is used, is this like deathmatch style online, a co-op online (which could be real good), or some sort of DLC packs that add on to the main story ( e.g missions and more assassinations. New slick weapons would be nice aswell!) I’d like to see what they have in store for the near future…

AC Online? As in some kind of certain ‘World of Warcraft’ type game?
Co-op missions would be great!

AC online…sounds interesting. I think it’ll be more co op based games, or who would kill the target fastest….or maybe a multiplayer horse race

I’m bemused as to how online will fit into Assassin’s Creed unless it has some Spec Op style missions with leaderboards and such. Also, been playing the first Driver and I’m hoping that there is no shooting in the new one. Shooting ruined the Driver series.

Im a little confused is this Assassin’s Creed III? Which is a continuation of Ezio’s story or it just inbetween 2 and 3

Ezio’s story is most likely to not be continued, as the games are focused around Desmond Miles, not ezio.

awesome news. hoping that AC3 will be set in present day or at least in some future where guns are more commonplace. it could be like COD with free running.

What?! swords are 100x more enjoyable than guns plus they can be upgraded with elemental attributes and drains souls alas the Soul Reaver, I’d hate to see Assassins Creed with guns it would be ass

Wow… While that sounds okay, it really won’t work. If you have any form of deathmatch then it’ll be the stupid because it’ll be a bunch of assassins running around attempting to do the same thing to each other. Maybe a CTF without weapons. But if it’ll be online, co-op is the way to go.

I remember the rumour before AC2 came out about an online feature with Villas etc to walk about it. It sounded like a Home space at the time but this could be it.

My hunble opinion is that AC online would come with a high degree of crapness, just like Dead Space, R&C, Batman,InFamous or anything of thatilk would also.
The demand for online is silly, would Sonic or Mario online hit off back in the day if it were an option?

You’re right, but Uncharted2 is awesome online both co-op and competitive – shame more people can’t tear themselves away from MW2 to find out

It may be that there are human targets that need to avoid assassins. If the premise is updated so that you (as a target) do not know who is an assassin (i.e. its revealed as soon as they do something out of the ordinary like scaling walls, running at you etc.) it would be more fun to fight and or/escape from them. Kind of like the Cops and Robbers mode for Burnout Paradise.
But with knives.

It’ll be interesting to see which modes will be available on AC online. I think co-op will be more realistic rather than assassins running around trying to stab eachother with a hidden blade. I’m looking forward to Driver and a new Ghost Recon. Guess I better start getting those A grades in my A2s!

I’m only excited for PoP, but why another Raving Rabbids, Rayman needs a new quest and hes left to the fate of idiotic bunnies with terrible mini games why is this happening?!

Sounds more like Assassins Creed 2.5, rather than a proper sequel.. Feels more like this should be DLC for the last game rather than put into a new one. Im not really concerned about online play tho, AC is really an offline experience, imo..
I cant believe Im arguing on the side of DLC.. :S
