Next Tony Hawk’s In The Works

Tony Hawk: Ride is pretty much considered as having bombed. You know it, I know it and despite protestations of “snarky critics” I think Mr. Hawk knows it. Despite this Tony and developer Robomodo seem undaunted. In a Tweet that reveals little Hawk confirms that he and Robomodo are at least on speaking terms and possibly have something else in the works.

Just met with @robomodo about our next project and it’s already much better than I expected. Details soon. Chicago is not warm.

That’s all there is for now, but at least we’ll be hearing something more on this “soon” (never a good term in video games). I’m surprised that they’re working on something so soon, given the reception of Ride. Maybe they want to get back on the horse straight away, rather than shying away for too long. Personally I’d rather they took a step back for a few years, look at what they really need to change, play some of the older games, play some of the Skate series and see what they can come up with. However as long as they ditch the peripheral they’ll at least get me to look at their game again.
