Some rumours never die, like the one about “Episodes of Grand Theft Auto IV” for the PS3. They don’t die, of course, because somebody keeps kicking up the dust just when we’ve all forgotten about it. Sure, the Episodes are brilliant (and Gay Tony in particular is a work of art) but we thought Microsoft had this one all sewn up.
We’d normally not bother with a story like this, but when a retailer throws up a pre-order page for the disk version of the game on the PS3, well, we take notice. The retailer? SimplyGames. The date: 31st of March. RRP: £34.99. The chance of this being real? No idea, but let’s cross our fingers that that box art is real and we find out more tomorrow, eh?

Alright Gaz, not everyone was around before Hodgi managed to quell all of the Thumb talk that was happening…and when I say quell I mean crush under the weight of his massive thumb!

Actually I know very well about Hodgi’s thumb thank-you-very-much. Beware of the thumb and all that jazz, I’ve actually been around much longer than my join date states, lurking in the background, waiting to pluck up the courage to become a full fledged member. And even then there was still plenty of it knocking around, before hodgi became a moderator. And anyway, I thought that little ditty fit quite well.

I was mildly annoyed when the exclusivity was originally announced but it was so long ago and I’ve played GTA4 to death since then and I really don’t know if I’m bothered about this now

there is most likely a copy of that play on the PS3 and the pictures from gamescom sort of proved it last year but weather we’ll ever see them is another question and i’d like to think we will

Definitely, definitely, DEFINITELY want this. These packs seem to add everything that I missed about the old GTAs so if this is a decent price I’ll be certain to pick it up.

The inner workings of this deal is probably quite ornate. It’s quite possible that the terms of the exclusivity is for DLC only. This isn’t *technically* DLC. It’s a new SKU and you don’t need the original game to play it.
Just saying. This may have always been the way Rockstar were going to “get around” the exclusive DLC deal” with MS.
This is not DLC. It’s DLC content packaged in a different form.
As I say, who knows what the wording of that contract states.

I know but when I play a sequel or something similar, it gets me in the mood to play the prequel. Which is why I wanna get Mass Effect 1 back. It’s also because I had it on 360 not PS3.

Maybe its all in the wording, the DLC is exclusive but a disc based version isn’t.

Perhaps the code is exclusive so Rockstar just re-wrote it like Ninja Gaiden vs Sigma
