Remember that secret SEGA document?

Now that Platinum Games’ Vanquish has officially arrived on the scene, we’ve been reminded by our friends over at PS3Center.net of the first time the game was mentioned – in that infamous SEGA document leaked back in September of 2009. These meeting minutes has been the subject of much discussion since their accidental disclosure, from what’s really happening with certain properties, to what was merely tossed around over coffee and danishes when SCEA sat down to talk about how to support SEGA’s games going forward.

Vanquish got the following mention:

Vanquish and Aliens: CM

Opportunity for PS3/PSP interoperability (see Eidos Batman, Army of Two, Assassin’s Creed for good examples).  If we offer that, SCEA would be really interested in having us at their booth next E3.

That’s Aliens: Colonial Marines in case you were wondering. Adding a PSP element to Vanquish is an interesting prospect. However, if you’re really looking for ways to ingratiate Vanquish into the minds of Sony fans, we’d recommend insisting Platinum Games actually make the game in question rather than passing the porting duties over to SEGA.

I think I speak for most people when I say I’d rather have a great game that is on par with its 360 counterpart rather than an inferior conversion with some weapons I can import from the PSP version.

If you want another look at the contentious document in question, its salient points are posted over at Neogaf.
