Good ole ESRB. Just when we thought we knew everything about Battlefield: Bad Company 2, they go and confirm that there is a World War II level in DICE’s upcoming modern shooter.
The ratings site states:
“In single-player mode, players conduct missions on an unnamed Japanese island during World War II and then move into the modern day through jungles, deserts, and snowy terrain.”
The blurb was first spotted by G4TV who went on to contact EA about the revealing snippet found in the rating guide. As expected, the publisher – though confirming that it does indeed exist – are not willing to divulge anything else about the level. Speculation is rife that the antiquated action is at the beginning of the game and offers a glimpse at one of the character’s back-story.
Finally, and as expected, the title has been rated “Mature.” Considering the game features “melee attacks with a power drill,” we kinda saw that one coming.

“unnamed Japanese island”
Willing to bet a lot of TSA points that it’s Wake Island. As in (almost) every other BF game so far.

isn’t it like: WW1 was fought (or not fought i guess) in the trenches, cos they were at stalemate
and WW2 used trenches for the proper use of them, in defence and stuff? but didn’t rely on them like WW1 did.

Yes, trench-warfare was a staple of WWI. There were still trenches in WWII, and the expression “once more into the trenches” is not aligned with any particular infraction. It’s synonymous with “going back to war.”

[SPOILER]
[SPOILER REGARDING LOST S6 permiere]
John Locke is dead and hydrogen bombs create alternate realitys YAY. Jacob is also dead.
Pheraps every once in a while on that map, everything would go bright and you’d get modern weapons. OK I really need to stop talking about LOST (That made me buy LOST: Via Domus,. which is a terrib… I mean great, a great game). As a special skin, Richard alpert will appear in the game (BFBC2).

Bet we get the Bad Company members as DLC skins for BF1943 around release of BCBF2.
I had lots of fun playing the demo last night with some mates. The squads held up, and chat remained stable the whole way through. I am so please they got this working in BFBC2, it really did ruin BF1943 for me and my mates, its no fun trying to guess what everyone is doing rather then chat about it.
I also find the pace and balance of the game much better then MW.
