When I reviewed PSP Minis title Fortix I was disappointed – the game itself was solid but “the graphics are basic, the load times are too long and the game needed a fair amount of balancing.”
I did suggest, however, that “an update could make it much better”and it seems Hungarian developers Nemesys took on board my comments, because they’ve emailed me saying they’ve updated the visuals, shortened the loading times and tweaked the game’s balance.
They’ve also promised me a fine Hungarian bottle of wine if I’m as constructively critical of their next game. I wish all developers were like Nemesys, despite the fact that I’m teetotal.
The patch is out this Thursday as part of the Store update.

Ah, Great sports!
I can imagine a few developers wouldn’t have reacted so well.
Nice to see a developer change their game based on the reviews.
Are you going to do a re-review? Or just add a little note to the end of the review saying that it’s been updated?

David Jaffe actually made changes to Calling All Cars after IGN’s review. Still pretty rare though and says a lot about the developers feelings about their own product.

Your teetotal? You sure I can’t offer you a wee g&t?
This is as it should be, we complain, they listen, they fix. Wish it was this easy all the time!

No worries Nofi, I am not teetotal, It will have a good home here!!!
Great stuff Nemesys, you should be very proud of your approach and attitude. A shining light in a sea of many other arrogant developers!!

I thought part of the deal with minis was that they couldn’t be updated? Similar to the way they aren’t allowed online capabilities.

I thought that if you hit triangle on them there was an “update” option for all games?

I am still getting over the fact that Nofi is teetotal!
Good to see the developers responding to this and it only goes to show the power of TSA in the gaming world!

If anyone tries out the patched version, could they report back (here or in the forums) as I’m now most interested in said title. Top news on them listening to you, nofi. Can we get the bottle o’ booze mailed around the country to TSA members so we might all have a sip to your good health? Bagsy me not having the dregs.

That’s a great result and very nicely done both nofi and Nemesys.
