Michael Patcher, the Webush Morgan Securities analyst who is well known amongst gamers for his strong opinions has spoken again.
This time he voiced his opinion during the latest episode of Pach Attack, in which the analyst said “I think Apple’s going to be a serious gaming company, the difference between Apple and Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft is, Apple is not known for internal software development. So I don’t think you’re going to get an Apple Games Group like you have Microsoft Games Studios making games you’re certainly never going to approach the quality of games you get out of Nintendo.”
He did however add: “So Apple’s going to be solely dependent on third parties to support their console in the future.”
According to Pachter, the success of the iPod touch is probably the main reason that Apple would be interested in a console, since even though it wasn’t their core product it proved that software sells hardware.
