24Electronic Arts have signed a publishing deal with ’38 Studios’ and announced a new RPG, codenamed ‘Project Mercury’. Excited? No? O.K. let’s do some details..
38 Studios is under the leadership of Ken Rolston, lead designer of Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and the sprawling Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Joining him is R. A. Salvatore, who has sold over 15 million books worldwide most notable in the ‘Forgotten Realms’ series.
Not good enough? Well let’s add acclaimed artist and creator of ‘Spawn’, Todd McFarlane in to the mix. That’s a pretty fearsome trio to work on an RPG, how could it get any better? Step forward Curt Schilling, famous for.. er.. playing baseball. Hmmm.
R.A. and Todd are creating and entire universe for the game to be set in and from what I can tell, it will be the same universe as their upcoming PC only MMO.
