Sony have revealed tonight during their GDC conference that the name of their new motion controller is PlayStation Move.

We had guessed this earlier tonight but now it is confirmed. Peter Dille from the Marketing team at SCEA was onstage to introduce the device and after talking about how well the PlayStation 3 has done in the past year and telling us that Gran Turismo 5 will ship this year (yeah) he eventually got around to telling us about it.
Introducing the controller, Mr Dille revealed that the new motion controller is extremely accurate from the smallest twitch to the hardest punch. PlayStation Move is being billed as a controller for everyone, therefore games will be aimed at all of the family.
The marketing man revealed that the controllers will come in three forms, one with the PS3 console, PSEye and the PS Move, another with just a controller, camera and game for under $100. Finally for those who already have the camera, the controller will be available on its own.

PS Move is cool with me. Undecided whether I’ll pay for it or not though…

Under $100 that’s means it will be about £90 for me.

Arc is the name of a mouse made by Microsoft, it was never going to be Arc for that reason alone… Although I must say the ‘squiggle’ logo looks a lot more like an A than an M!

It’s kind of annoying that you’ll need to buy two for some games. Unless it lets you use a DS3?

Sounds like it will be optional for most games, from what Jack T is saying

The name for their Nunchuck is awesome. “Playstation Move Subcontroller.” Which genius thought of that?

well well well, finally it’s here and I have lots of articles to read through today. I must admit, after being very negative about it, it’s actually looking rather good. Blue tooth all round and the games look nice.

Move? I was hoping that they would come up with something a bit more inventive…
