There’s not a lot to go on with this one but it’s interesting nonetheless. It seems that Crytek UK (who used to be Free Radical, the makers of Timesplitters) have filed a trademark on a logo and name for “Self Defense”. Our friend over at Superannuation is assuming, based on the logo, that this could be some sort of project they’re working on for one of the various motion control systems which are rumbling into view and we’re inclined to agree with him. Whether it’s a fitness title (as Superannuation suggests) or some other style of game is less easy to assume.

I’m holding out hope for some sort of martial arts combat sim myself. Of course, with Crytek behind it we can also presume that it will look gorgeous and that plays strongly into the marketing buzz that Sony have been starting to generate with all their talk of motion control in HD and the HD upgrade path for Wii owners. The next year is going to be very interesting for all of this stuff. Check out the logo below.
