Whoo, look at this. So, you got in here by clicking a link in our brand new (and still quite shiny) TSA24/7 category (if you were quick, the box filled up so fast that I’ve had to move this article). This is a new feature added to the site after plenty of reader-feedback and behind-the-scenes discussion.
Basically, we have increased our news output quite a bit recently. Some of our lovely readers told us that they didn’t want the funny TSA commentary to get lost and they were a bit concerned that the influx of smaller bites of news might cause a deluge that would obscure their beloved TSA features. So we struggled with ways to make it so that our news could tick by and leave our features sitting high and proud on the front page.
Firstly, we had a big redesign which resulted in the “Featured Stories” column where all the most interesting, funniest and original articles get a place in the spotlight. We were still losing a little bit of what makes TSA special under a torrent of news though. Whilst we don’t want to say that one news item is more important than another, we recognised that some items didn’t merit the same amount of attention as others.
So, we’ve created the TSA24/7 area of the site for all those little stories that only take a few lines to write up. Things which there is undoubtedly an audience for but that perhaps don’t need us to spend our time fixing icons and all that other gubbins that we have to do for articles. We can now just fire the news up quickly and without a fuss, it will tick by in its own little box and all the usual TSA banter will still go on as normal in the column underneath it.
We hope this makes the site easier to navigate and more friendly for you lot to read but please bear in mind that we’re still tinkering so there might be the odd change or hiccup as we smooth out all the wrinkles. Cool, innit?
