Posting on his Twitter account, Metal Gear maestro Hideo Kojima has teased that his next game will ruffle some feathers by challenging social norms. And if he gets it wrong? He might end up working at his local noodle-bar. He says:

“The next project will challenge a certain type of taboo. If I mess up, I’ll probably have to leave the industry. However, I don’t want to pass by avoiding that. I turn 47 this year. It’s been 24 years since I started making games. Today, I got an ally who would happily support me in that risk. Although it’s just one person. For a start, it’s good.”

With the mention in another recent tweet that ‘mecha’ will feature in the new game, the immediate socially frowned upon practice we can think of is sex with robots. OK, we can think of a lot of other things, but we’d like this site to stay up so we’ll keep our collective mouths firmly shut.
